I've been there and it's a great time. The entire town gets into it.

I've always wanted to go there.

Did anyone watch the Shatner prank show Invasion Iowa where he went to Riverside and fooled the whole town into thinking he was making a movie there? It's out on DVD (finally) this month. I'd love to meet some folks from the show as they seemed like genuinely nice people...

Unless the Narada came out of that time rift right off of the border of Iowa, it looks to me that James T Kirk wasnt born anywhere near Iowa. He grew up there but thats all.

The Ship under construction that Kirk was looking at was never identified as being the Enterprise was it? May have been another in the same class?

I would have to think about that but I do believe that Pike said something like, it was the newest ship and most modern in the fleet and it was heavy implied that it was the same ship.

#1) Prime Universe Kirk was born there, don't erase this because of Ultimate Universe Kirk was born in space.

#2) It was the Enterprise: when the shuttle carrying McCoy, Kirk, Uhura, and the other cadets took off, the sweep of the nacelles reveals the 1701 registration number.
