With all the new membership, I think its time we start using some of the cool features that this forum offers us. I am going to try to highlight some portion of this site to both show the members what its uses are and how they can utilize the benefits of that function.

First Up.......The Gallery

If you look up to the top most grey strip on the right side of the screen, you'll see a whole bunch of tabs including blogs, gallery, chat room, etc. If you've never clicked the gallery tab, do it now, trust me.

If you go into the members Gallery, there is just a ton of cool stuff waiting for you. Members have loaded up pictures of their collections, trips to cons, custom figures, and random images that they think are cool. I think one of the coolest sections is "Unproduced Figures" that has the original prototype pictures of Mayweather's Helm, Salt Vampire, Ferengi Borg and the Romulan Senator. I go there every now and then just to think about what could have been!

The best part of all this is you can set up your own gallery too. Since I already have an album set up, I have a "My Album" tab next t "My Controls" on the second grey strip at the top. To set up a new album, you'll have to go to "My Controls" and on the left tool bar there will be a link that says "Your Albums." If you click that you should get a message reading "No Albums Found" but you in luck because it also gives a link to "Create your first album"! Go through the setup process, make sure to put it in the members Gallery, and make sure to CHECK THE PUBLIC BOX! That way everyone can see it. Once you have it created you can start uploading.

The image upload is very easy to do and doesnt take much time. Once you go to your album either through the gallery or through the new "My Albums" tab all you have to do is click "NewImage" and follow the easy steps for uploading.

This is a really cool feature on this site especially for customizers because it gives a quick access point to both your collection and your creations without having to navigate threads. Im probably also going to upload some cool useful resources for customizers (like a height chart of Trek actors/actresses) for everybody to easily find.

Go on get to it!!

Hey thanks for bringing out that feature to the members. You can bet I would use it if the website itself was not my gallery! LOL

OK now that we know how to build a gallery, lets move onto something that everyone can use frequently.

Trektoy Schematics #2: How to Check Posts the Easy Way

You've probably have noticed those flashing red lights on the TOS Skin (you can change skins down at the very bottom of the page but all skins have some variation of the same theme). You've probably also realized that those flashing red lights represent new posts. Lets say though that you are on your new iPhone and can't really navigate through all the forums like you would on your PC or laptop. Well all you have to do is click the "View New Posts" tab on the secong gray bar at the top next to "My Controls" and your brand spankin' new "My Albums" that you developed a few days ago! This will take you to a screen that shows you all of the new posts that have been written since your last visit.

Lets also say that all those flashing red lights are giving you a headache. You can also "mark all posts as read" by clicking the tab of the same name that appears at the bottom of the page on the blue bar right under the last forum, Random Thoughts. By clicking that you can get rid of all the flashing but you will no longer know what is new so be careful with that button!

As always dont forget to post your questions about this in the pinned questions section or if you have any other questions post it in the new Help Desk forum and one of our great admin/mods will do our best to help you out!

Have you updated your profile lately?

After looking through some of our profiles. I realized how few of us actually have it up to date or even have info in there at all. To make this a closer knit community here are a few ways to add some extra info into your profile to let us get to know each other a little better:

1. All the editing can be done through the "My Controls" tab on the upper command bar.
2. Go to Edit Profile Information and thre you can do the follwoing:
a. add a persoanl picture (if you feel comfortable with it)
b. add a list of interests
c. double check to make sure your gnder, birthday, and location are all correct
d. you can also add in any instant messenger IDs or your own personal website address
3. If you go to personal portal information you can add a persoanl statement

If you explore further, there are a lot of other cool things you can do in the controls section and please let me know if I've missed something!
As always if you have any questions feel free to post them in the questions section!
