Look at this. christies.com

If they're actually selling setpieces of the Enterprise-E, you can be damn sure that there will be no more TNG movies (as I have predicted years ago). This really makes my day!

CBS is starting fresh with Trek, if at all. So yeah, they are getting rid of pretty much everything. In any case, as far as the TNG era is concerned, everything was so well documented by the production staff, they could easily reproduce anything they need to should they ever revisit the era.

Yes, but that would mean a huge investment. They kept the things that long to avoid such an investment.

Yes, it is a pitty, but both Nemisis and Insurection left me flat. I really wanted to like them. But I was just dissapointed with them. So It's no real surprise that franchise suffered and they are liquidating alot of props.

I wish I had the space to display pieces like that, I may have actually bid on some.

I wonder what CBS will eventually do with the rest of the Trek Holdings such as the STTE or the Trek themes they have at many of the Paramout Parks.

When I lived in Charlotte NC I used to have a season pass to the park there and I always liked the Trek Theme music you'd hear in parts of the park.

Not really that big of an investment. Some wood, some plexiglass, some lights, and some monitors. Right now the plan is to try something new. It's better to raise revenue by auctioning off the old stuff. If the plan changes, then everything can be remade. It's a necessary cost for most projects anyway. And there is alwasy the chance they wouldn't need every set or every piece of a set recreated and there is even the chance that, even if they were to revisit the TNG era, they would want to build completely different sets anyway. For the state the franchise is in and the way CBS wants to procede, it's just more cost effective to sell everything off even if they need to rebuild and recreate some things later on.
