Alteran..... You may have lucked out with this kit!! I was looking at the box on another site and it no longer says Ertl.... It says its a Polar Lights snap kit!! How much do you want to bet this will be released as a prepainted snap kit before too long..... I will be getting one of those also!!

Looking at the Probert design, it is a much more logical progression from the Excelsior to the D. I think I like the Probert more than the established C.

A pro modeller did a build up of this kit for the box art.... Looks spot on.... Kit comes with hull paneling decals in the correct colors also.

Well, after comments on here I couldn't resist the Nostromo. It and the NX jumbo arrived today. Wow. The NX is really really good. I'm a fan of the refit special, but this is something else again. I've been a bit sniffy about the price, but I sort of forgot about that once it was out the box. Easily the best NX model I've ever seen, and I have vivid memories of getting AA's NX back at the end of 2002 and being blown away by that.

The Nostromo is also impressive, the only other model I have of this is a little Japanese candy toy (in itself very good) that I got in 2003/4. Glad I got it, and I fear I won't be able to resist the Sulaco which can't be far behind.

On the jumbo's, I can't say I'm going to go back and catch up. I might dip into the 1701, and I've got my Voyager pre order, but we'll see how it goes. I'm so excited for the Defiant jumbo, its going to be mega.

Andy

Totally agree with you about the NX-01 jumbo.... Awesome..... The TOS 1701 is just as nice and the D comes in a nice 3rd place IMHO.... The real issue only being the slightly chunky impulse engine on the secondary hull.

Very excited for the jumbo Voyager and eventual Jumbo Defiant (Fingers crossed Ben knows about the 3ft filming model is the "go to" for Defiant fans)

Don't make them mad; I want my Reliant!

Customers shouldn't be afraid of Companies.... Companies should be afraid of their Customers.... LOL

Serioysly guys, how pathetic is it that we have to kiss butt in hopes we will get a crumb from DST.

Im not trying to rabble rouse,  Im just being honest.... The whole Trek Merchandising Machine stinks....

Eaglemoss is the only company with open arms towards their customers.

I feel like I have to walk on eggshells around here... Its become sad... We are paying these peoples salaries and we get talked to like children.... Worst thing... Some people like it that way.

I dont really come to this site much anymore and really dont care to. There still are some great people on here... I wish you well.

Ive moved on to greener pastures.

Live Long, and Prosper....

I'll see you.... out there!

#86070 Star Trek Beyond

IMHO the current incarnation of Trek, ie JJverse is not horrible but it definitely doesn't live up to the more thought provoking concepts of earlier Trek.

Trek has definitely had ups and downs prior to the JJverse... Spock's Brain,  Star Trek V, Insurrection are just a few low points across the board IMHO.

I think one of the things that leaves a sour taste for many with JJverse is the fact that the sanctity of the origins of Trek are being manipulated and perhaps even tampered with.... If something ain't broke don't try to fix it.

Personally I am excited for the hope that comes with a new series. It needs to be as revolutionary as TNG was back in the 80s..... I was in 5th grade back then and I was so pleased with the new ideas.... but many people complained and complained that's until the Borg showed up..... That 3rd season cliffhanger had everyone talking!!! TNG finally came into it's own.

I will see Beyond and I may even like it.... But in my book Star Trek is about moving forward.... exploring strange new worlds!!! Not rehashing what we know.... Risks need to be taken!!

Here is a shot where I created small cannons out of styrene rod to mount in the ports. ( The kit had no cannons)
