Just curious. Would people buy these next year in conjunction with the 25th anniversary? If they did Galoob Retro figures, but with a complete TNG crew, add the Romulan and maybe a few more season one aliens (Traveler, Armus, Lwaxana Troi, Lore, Bynars, Remmick). Just checking...
Retro TNG Re-releases...interested?

Are you talking about reproductions of the originals with the occasional new figure, ala the Mego-Retro stuff? Or completely new figures on old-style packaging, like Hasbro's vintage Star Wars line? Although, either way I don't think I'd be interested.
The former option is a little redundant since you can still pick up the Galoob figures MOC for fairly cheap, aside from the Romulan and Wesley - but I think people really only want the Romulan anyway. The latter would probably be interesting to most people simply because it's a new Star Trek 3 3/4" line, but personally I have no interest in that scale for Star Trek.
Now, if DST were to release more 7" TNG season 1 figures by putting them on Galoob-retro packaging, I'd be up for that. My season 1 Picard and Riker need subordinates to command.

I would be, as long as it is in the 3.75 inch scale. I for one do not think the price for a 6 inch figure (average is 15-20 bucks) is worth it, and I don't care how detailed it is. The 3.75 inch price is better for the company since it is cheaper and I would add a touch using the Galoob style packaging. Figures would come with a normal hand and another holding a phaser that can be snapped on and off. Here is my Dream list:
Wave 1 (1st season)
Picard
Riker
Data
Yar
Worf
LaForge
Dr. Crusher (coatless variant)
Troi (Encounter at Farpoint variant)
Q-Encounter at Farpoint
Daimon Bok
Ferengi
Klingon Warrior
Romulan
Wave 2 (2nd season)
Bearded Riker
Worf
LaForge
O'Brien
Wesley Crusher
Dr. Pulaski
Commander Tomalok
Borg Drone
Wave 1 (1st season)
Picard
Riker
Data
Yar
Worf
LaForge
Dr. Crusher (coatless variant)
Troi (Encounter at Farpoint variant)
Q-Encounter at Farpoint
Daimon Bok
Ferengi
Klingon Warrior
Romulan
Wave 2 (2nd season)
Bearded Riker
Worf
LaForge
O'Brien
Wesley Crusher
Dr. Pulaski
Commander Tomalok
Borg Drone

Hey...sorry...been busy. Jedigreedo, honestly either option would work for this thread...I was just curious what people's reaction would be. Honestly, I'm not interested in the 3.75 scale either...but I do have a bit of nostalgia for playing with those figures in my backyard and wishing I had more of them...building a Beverly Crusher out of a Tasha Yar and then showing it to Gates McFadden...finding those silly over-the-shoulder-tricorders in corners of my shag carpeting years later. I have a complete set of 10 carded figures because my Mom insisted on keeping a set unopened. I remember finding a whole slew of them at Kay Bee and buying a handful to try and do customs...made a few mistakes. SO, the nostalgia factor might kick in for me...but clearly the interest is not there.
And yes, I would WAY prefer some season 1 7"...especially a Tasha Yar and Bun-Wearin' Troi.

Was abrupt in my lat post b/c I needed to go to work, but had a slew of TNG toy ideas. My idea would be to do more figures in Wave 3 to cover the 1st 2 seasons. If ya'll want my complete list I'll post them here. Totals about 16 waves in all.

Hey,
Just a new guys opinion here, I would love to see a retro style run of the TNG figures in 3.75 scale excluding any figures already produced. But most of my collection is 3.75, could be because I can fit more figures in that scale. I also have customized many Tng galoob figures and had to part with them when times got tough but I am slowly building the customs back up again. I had also considered looking into having a short run of some of my customs produced, but I'm sure licensing issues would crush that idea.

I would fall over backwards with happiness if a company decided to finish the old Season 1 Galoob line.
Picard - just cause you gotta have a Picard in the set!
Wesley
Romulan
Beverly
Troi
Klingon attire Worf
And they can release the cancelled Bridge Playset while they are at it!

Hopefully Hasbro will tackle this since they have the license now. I wonder if they can use the old Galoob cardbacks? It'd be a nice touch IMO
