..Captain Kirk (Star Trek V) is up!

http://apieceoftheac...james-t_25.html

I am posting this one super early today (like midnight early) because I know we'll be out all day tomorrow (at the Detroit Science Center hitting the Star Trek Exhibition!) and I didn't want to end my daily streak just yet. wink.gif

Yes, i can understand your dissatisfaction with these Star Trek V figures. I remember thinking when they came out 20 years ago, "Why didnt they make them Action figures, instead of statues?" The boxes are some of the cheapest packaging i have seen for any Star Trek figure, you rarely ever see a mint box of these. They retailed for about $25.00 each, which even by todays standards you expect something decent for that kind of money. Judging by what i saw on the toystore shelf, they didnt sell very well, due to price and quality. I dont think you mentioned that the base has a Diorama backing card that attaches to the stand so that the figure appears to be in a scene of the movie. I recently bought a set of the five figures for $25.00, about what one figure cost originally, still MIB, with reasonably decent packaging, but i am thinking about taking them out.

No pics allowed unfortunately...We did buy pics on the bridge, transporter, and guardian, but you aren't allowed to take your own pics. I was going to try and sneak a few, but I felt bad about it so I didn't...

I'm giving away a DST Tapestry Picard, so stick the review out until the end!

Wow, you feel the Galoob STV figures are so bad that you have to give away a figure to get people to read the review? I admit that they are deficient in many ways but still have a place for them on my shelf and my heart.

I saw some of these awhile back, and thought they were pretty horrible myself. Maybe I'd pick them up for a buck. wink.gif

Nah, it just kinda worked out that way. I had Klaa planned for today, and I came across my extra Picard last night that I had wanted to give away. I kinda chuckled to myself when I thought that it would be a nice reward after staring at one of these Galoob guys through the whole review. So I threw it in there as kind of a joke. Picard would have been given away today, regardless of the who the spotlight was on...

But I do really dislike those figures.

Naturally, i like the Spock, could have been much better, but for the time period this was released in, it was a pretty sweet set.
