50 bux for a phaser, are you kidding me? I don't think I can justify that

I would be cautious of BBST listings as they don't always pan out. I think Newforce Comics might be more reliable and I don't see the disruptor listed there yet. dry.gif

Cool disruptor. $50 'discounted' price tag? Not so much... That's as much as a ship!

Well.... The 50.00 price tag is hard to justify.... But if I am right the Klingon Disruptor is pretty big....so if it is truly 1:1 scale that may be why it is more money. I will pay it if its accurate size.

Seems to me that DST are upping the price because perhaps they've upped the quality. If so I don't think anyone should be put off by it (unless you can't afford it) since quality is something DST has had to improve in Trek toys - unfortunately these days, quality comes at a bigger price since costs have risen but salary's have remained the same.

Chinees Salaries have been rising, which is part of the reason the costs go up.

VARIANT ALERT!

Looks like they're doing STIII and TNG variants?

Never liked the design of these, especially the emitter, so it looks like I'm saving 50 bucks.  Give me a companion to my TOS phaser, an original series design Klingon disruptor and I'll buy 2.

More pics I've been able to pinch from the electronic embrace of the internet...

You can see the TNG Beak-nosed version there.

Super-high-res version of the promo shot we've been seeing for a while on online shops:

Agreed. I'd rather have a TOS Klingon disruptor and maybe the Eminiar variant. It was a variant, wasn't it...or just a flat-out reuse?

The body and the handle were reused. the front is completly different. Bits added here and there to the body.

There ya go. Thanks, Mark. My old brain couldn't conjure up the mental image of the Eminiar version!

I've always loved the TNG disruptor. Not so much the STIII version.
