hello all...
As hoped, we have secured a nice quantity of the Cage exclusive version of the 1701 Enterprise. As most all know, quantity produced is very limited, so orders will be filled on a first come, first serve basis (product could arrive as early as end of this week, or more likely first of next). We are able to offer the ship at $29.99 (25% off SRP) + shipping. Now, I cannot guarantee how long this deep discounted price will be in effect, but for now, that is the price.
Thanks
rick, www.newforcecomics.com

hello all...
for some reason, I could not get logged back on yesterday to update my post that DST, which originally was going to ship us the Cage ships this week, has decided to release in June, instead...so, this is a preorder (which, if you went to the website you knew, but I wanted to clarify)!
thanks
rick

I've seen piles of poo that looked better than that picture. Either way, I got my preorder in yesterday.

We all know from raptor's posts on the AA site that the ship actually looks quite good. You'd think somebody at dst would take a nice studio quality photo of the finshed product. It's only their official website selling the product to the end customer. Wouldn't you want to present it in the best light?

^^Gentlemen, let's try and stay positive wink.gif From what I've heard, no one has been disappointed with the last ship. So there's no reason to negative when it comes to this ship either, ok? Thanks for the info Rick, as always it's appreciated.

It's pretty hard to think how they could've taken such a disappointing picture when you can tell it is quite sexy. biggrin.gif

Found this auction with plenty of pics-

What I find amazing is that their official promo pic is of a somewhat rough prototype and not the finished version. The bridge dome and the tail of the nacelles appear to be either unpainted or are painted white (maybe that's just light reflection, but I don't think so) and the windows on the secondary hull/connecting dorsal are not painted. From the ebay listing you can clearly tell they are. Plus, the bridge dome looks to me to be rather roughly affixed and raised slightly off the "lower" portion of the dome base, giving it a mushroom appearance.

I mean they've got cases of these things in a warehouse right now. Would it have killed them to open a case, or even just one for photos?

I'm actually kind of looking forward to this one now. Before I was just going to buy one to keep in the box for values sake, but looking at it, I'm not so sure.

That was a pretty bad shot of the Cage 1701 that DST put up on their site, i would have thought they could have done better than that.

Does anyone know what are the differences between the Cage and WNMHGB variants, besides the sound chip on the Cage version and paint scheme on the top of the WNMHGB saucer section? I already have four 1701s and am not sure if I really need two similar variants. Thanks!

I feel your pain, and I have 3 of the standard. I want the WNMHGB Variant simply because it has some very pretty paint apps.
