I was thinking and got inspired by the motuc series....how difficult would it be to cast the cardassian armor piece and the hollow it out and have it be a two piece set that can be snapped or glued over the base figure kinda like the battle armor figures Martel does. This would allow for the original articulation to be retained. Just a thought and I have no idea if it is possible logistically

I also think this same method would also work for quarks jacket

Actually, that's the exact approach I'm going for with the Cardassians... Pretty much adapting how it was handled on the Playmates 9" version.

I still need to find better reference for the boots, though. I used the DST Gul Dukat pics as a guide, but I've seen screencaps from the actual show were Dukat is just wearing regular ol' pants.

Re-pouring Quark now. Trying to get him more in-scale with the rest of the guys. Wish me luck!

Thanks guys!

I got Quark re-poured, starting with his arms, chest and head. This uses a new ratio of the mix, so if everything scales down properly, I'll use the same ratio for the legs.

I also scaled-up Rom, Garak, Nog, and Soran heads from the Playmates figures. I still need to play with the ratios a bit to get them to the proper size, though (right now they scaled up to be inscale with the 9" Playmates line, so I need to shrink them back down a bit).

Lots of back and forth to get the right combination, but once I get the formula locked, it should open up a lot of doors. Gettin' excited to see this all come together!

Just wondering if there was any progress on these (and perhaps some new pictures?)

It's been a while since there has been anything here and I went back and looked at these photos...is there more information?

(And PS...your website is great and giving me a lot of ideas...so thank you for that as well) smile.gif

Hey everyone -

Sorry for disappearing for so long. I got sidetracked relaunching my website and needed to take a break from customizing.

I still want to make a major push into the DS9 territory, and have all the parts going. It's just a matter of finding time. Hopefully by early summer I can get back to it. I gotta have me a Quark!

With Quark, I actually had the entire vinyl kit scaled down, but it's not exactly my favorite outfit. Still, it'd be a good starting off point for a customizer.

Very eager to get back to this project. I'll hopefully have an update within a few weeks...

It's been so long since I looked at this thread I had forgotten you had also done Morn and Dukat. I'd like those too.

Yeah, I made SUCH progress early on, and then got pulled away from the project. I don't know if I can do a full-on Morn, but I'd like to give it a shot.
