I've been curious about the small 1/72 scale 2 pack viper kits from Battlestar Galactica for a while but didn't want to buy a full kit without seeing them first. However I just found a kit that someone split up on eBay and got a single Viper for $6. I thought this would be a good way to test the little kits out. I'll post pics of the kit and my build progress as soon as it arrives. It's a MKVII BTW.

Sweet!!! Can't wait to see what you do.... Unfortunately there was an announcement by Moebius last week that all 1/72 scale kits are being discontinued😞

That sucks, but at least there seem to be plenty of viper and raider kits on eBay cheap enough. In case I really like it. Lol.

The kit arrived today. First impressions is that it's pretty cool. Not quite as detailed as the larger kits buts to be expected. It still has plenty of detail. I'm going to have a hell of a time with these itty bitty decals. Lol.
At first I thought about doing a clean version since it was so small but I think I may go full battle damage and weathering on it now. Now to decide... Landing gear or flight?

Hmm..... Fly, or not to Fly.... That is the question.
Whichever you choose I know you will do a great job!!

Here it is. First assembly, then base coat, and then final paint with weathering and decals. I really like these little kits. I think I will pick up a two pack of mark II's next.

It didn't really come out in the pics but the final paint does have a slight tint of blue.

Thanks. It was fun to build. I am definitely planning on doing the mark II's and probably a full two pack of sevens. It is five and a half inches long. Here is a pic next to the eaglemoss flier.
