The Tri-fold Borg figure, mib, sold for $810.00 + $12.00 shipping after 6 bids.

Not counting true prototypes, such as test shots from that auction earlier this year, this has gotta be a record paid for a Playmates figure in the past 12 months.

"I worked for a company that was interested in using the Star Trek name in our product.  One of the items they sent was this," the seller wrote.

These don't come up for auction on eBay even every year -- I think this is the first one I've seen on eBay to be honest. It's hard to estimate just how many of these are left in the package, but this seems like a realistic price for something that is not offered very often.

Have you seen these go for less?

Yikes! I need this one, but at these kind of prices, I'll pass! It's not even in that good of condition. I got outbid on one several years back at $300. I think that it went for $350. Thanks for posting all of these auctions ;0) Fred.

Yeah, who'd have thunk there was so much demand out there? I knew these traded in the hundreds of dollars, but didn't think it was that many hundreds.

A preview of the demand for when the Picard series gets going, perhaps.

Speaking of a preview of the demand during the Picard series, here's what a Tapestry Picard figure just fetched: $420.00 + $10.86 shipping after 13 bids.

About market priced for the moment, but these could be snapped up for $50 less on occasion.

Projections Barclay, MIB, went for $15.56 + $7.95 shipping after 3 bids.

Man, I know the values have plummeted a while ago, but this is a new low record. I paid like $40.00 plus shipping for mine. Somebody paid just over retail from a supermarket, adjusted for inflation. The card was a little bent here, but not super badly.

Data Redemption on Canadian card went for $100.00 + $15.00 shipping after 1 bid.

Ooof, a high record for the past few years -- somebody wanted a Canadian Red Data just real bad, and they didn't wanna wait for one to come up on eBay for $50.00 less, which they usually do after a few months.

Rom & Nog, MIB, went for $12.76 + $5.75 shipping after 7 bids. (Yes, really).

This two-pack has surprised me from time to time when it comes to demand -- there are a few figures like that that can draw some small-scale bidding wars for whatever reason. And they can do that week in a week out.

First Contact/Insurrection Picard 4.5-inch from Target, MIB, recently brought brung $20.50 + $6.00 shipping after 8 improbable bids.

This is one of those things that people still want, and for good reason. It's not the 6-inch First Contact one, and there aren't a ton of them. And it's kinda important -- it's Picard in a normal scale in a First Contact movies uniform. And weird of all, it's hard to find loose -- you have to really really look around for several weeks if a loose one comes up. Playmates clearly underestimated the demand for such a figure.

The European Beverly hath generateth a mere $13.32 after 3 bids, on sale from the UK with undetermined shipping costs.

These, uhh, usually go for more, so I'm gonna say this was a fluke. But, on the other hand, there is a bit of an oversupply because ::sigh:: these were hoarded and a lot of them are MIB, and they only trade hands between eBay dealers and collectors. So it's kind of a Huntsville Effect: most are MIB, they only trade hands between collectors, and eBay has depressed prices to below retail adjusted for inflation over 20 years.

Here's what must be a low record: near mint Yesterday's Tasha went for $76.01 + $4.57 shipping after 5 bids.

There are steals and then there's just a whack to the shins with a Ping Zing sand wedge.

Unless the seller bought this for its nominal retail price at K-Mart in 1996, or got it at an estate sale for $15.00 along with a used toaster oven and an electric George Foreman grille, he took a massive hit. I have a feeling that just setting it at Buy It Now for at least $120.00 would have had someone pick it up for that amount. This, however, is not $120.00.

Yesterday's Tasha, number 1493, MIB, went for $78.00 + $8.99 shipping after 20 bids.

Definitely sensing a pattern with these last two, and that pattern is... eye-watering depreciation.

Red Data on US card, mib, went for $75.00 plus free shipping after 1 bid.

Pretty well bought, all things considered. This is about the going rate: $65 plus shipping, in this case it was free.
