Classic Playmates Star Trek

I've only ever bought one Star Trek Playmates figure - a Generations Data. i wasn't impressed by the beard it seemed to have however i've recently stumbled across this and wondered what anyone's thought's on it are - i'm interested in it because it looks retro and colourful plus im a TOS nut. anyone recommend it?

I like mine I think that it's a neat set and you get them all at once

This is a better deal I bet

go to Ebay and do a search with this in the bar

I recommend it, but I love PMs. This is the only way to get the TOS crew in their original uniforms - aside from finding them loose on eBay. If you bought the Generations version of Data in the uniform that never appeared on screen, these will have mush more articulation. I thought these were nice figures - decent likenesses, uniforms, and articulation for that time.

This was a really cool set overall and I would suggest getting it if you want to get into playmates.

PS I loved the generations figures for some reason and wish those uniforms actually made it onscreen.

It's a good set and if you're ok with the Playmates line then you definately want to pick this up. But I agree, you should be able to find it cheaper on eBay.

Yeah, I recommended it. Its a pretty neat set, and back when I was just collecting the main characters off each show, this was a pretty handy set to get. Plus the box is pretty cool.

One of the first sets my wife bought me when we were dating. Used to be a local toy show every few months that we lived by. After one of the shows I was unloading the car and found it in the trunk much to my surprise. Apparently she had picked it up when I was distracted somewhere else and had them put it in the trunk. I would do as FHC suggested and look on eBay though, it might be cheaper for you.

Don't the Generations figures have no moveability in their arms?

That was stupid of them to release the toy line early.

Well, I don't think it was stupid, just premature. They got the designs from Paramount and went with them. Unfortunately, TPsTB decided to change things up just before production and PMs was stuck with these. Paramount did it to them again with the Ent-E if I am not mistaken.

Once filming had began they found that the new uniforms looked to military and they also did not film well. As Generations moved from start to finish they change uniforms because they did not use the new ones and had to fall back on what they had in stock.
