Very happy with what I preordered from Rick (3 3/4 figures and bridge). I'll debate on the transporter set down the line, and the 12"ers don't look half bad. That'll probably be it for me unless the ship looks like it may fit in with the DST stuff.

Can't wait for an on-time product! wink.gif

I am so excited for the 3.75" figures...they look great, and the Bridge looks great, and the Transporter...I hope there's even more! The 6" look....bad. But the 12" look ok, aside from the fact that their chests look like they pulled them straight from the old ones from the 90's - superhero chests. But still, overall I'm very excited!

I also like the look of the tricorder, and the communicator is ok, but I'm sorry, the phaser is horrible...

Totally agree...I was trying to resisit this line entirely...but that 3.75 line looks like a TON of fun! I'm all in on that line. In fact, my 6 year old son is going to flip for these, so I'm probably looking at 2 of everything in that scale. I'll pass on the 6" and probably the 12", the communicator looks good....phaser not so much.

Off to Rick's to preorder...

How can this stuff look so good and the 6" stuff look so bad. You would think they are from 2 different companies!

I actually like the phaser. It has a 50's retro feel to it with the all silver body, while being reminiscent of such Trek weapons as the "Cage" laser (with the multiple beam emitters), the TOS phaser, the ST3 phaser, and the assault phaser. I'm definitely getting a few of them to play with and toss around. I'd really like to see a real prop replica with a motorized beam emitter mechanism and higher quality chromed body though.

Don't keep your hopes up to high, remember it's not AA but Playmates!

My guess would be they have one set of sculpters working on the 3" 3/4 scale figures and another set working on the 6 inch figures . They knew they wanted to make some affordable playsets , so they put their better sculpters to work on the 3" 3/4 line , and let their D students do the work on the 6 inchers . laugh.gif

I'm actually getting a little excited about the new movie.
I was probably the only one here that wasn't too excited about a trek Prequel lol

I actually am digging the 6" line more....they look more like the characters IMO. I don't mind the "sweater" look as much...And I REALLY like the 12" but I wish the Spock's looked better.

I preordered the roll-playing items and the ship. I'm not sure about the figures. The only ones I'd get if any would be the 6 inch line, because they would go with the AA/DST ones.

On second glance the 6" line does look a little better. I'm going to have to wait till I see it in Person though.

I actually like the 6 inch line - it's definitely a hybrid between DST and Playmates focus on play-ability. Yeah i see myself getting this line as well as the more collectable 12 inch line and most definitely that ship

When i first got into Trek i loved the ships - never the figures and this is just a complete improvement on playmates previous line biggrin.gif

Yep, same here. According to Trekmovie the uniforms are some sort of flexible rubber:

[...]"This line is a bit more life-like and the figures are fully articulated and come outfitted with soft, flexible PVC shirts."[...]

From my point of view, some of the figures look good (Sulu / Cho ), other horrible (Kirk / Pine).
Lets wait and see... but judging from the high-resolution pictures over at trekmovie, the overall look is more plastic-like then I like it... hmmm.
