Hi All. Just came across this rare Beverly Crusher from the movie Generations on Ebay (item #260126044578) that was graded by the AFA and has a "Buy it Now" price of $500. I have 3 of these limited Crushers from the movie Generations 2 on mint cards and one with a slight crease on the bottom right side. They normally went for $39.95 MOC, so I was really surprised to see that the AFA grading would bring the price up that high.

That's the funny thing about AFA-graded figures on ebay; it's done to entice people into buying them because they're guaranteed mint, but the sellers often push the prices up far too high to make anyone interested.

Yeah if it actually goes for that I'm starting a new eBay business. I'll buy them on eBay have theme graded and them sell them with a several hundred dollar mark up.

Part of the problem is that it costs a bunch of cash just to get the grading done!
You have shipping (both ways), and then the cost of the grading and box, etc...
Even the cheapest possible tier for grading costs $20 per figure, so right away you take a $40 figure and make it $60, then they want to recoup the "investment" of grading it so they basically Double the price ($120), and you want to make sure you don't under sell the market so you double it again for all the idiots out there ($240), and finally you need to re-coupe the "operating" costs of running your enterprise (from your moms) basement, so you have to double it again ($480), and because you were never good at math you just round everything off, and that gets you to $500!
