I was at an off-the-beaten-path Zellers here in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada today and managed to find the old VHS "Star Trek: The Next Generation" set with the bundled 4.5" Playmates Worf. Details on the figure are over on the resource linked from Rick's New Force site:

http://www.newforcec...ref/premium.htm

The best part is that the set cost me only $8. I'm throwing out the tapes -- I think all these episodes are on the Klingon DVD set I purchased, anyway -- but I'm really looking forward to adding this figure to my display. I think he's one of only about 20 of the 4.5" Playmates figures I'm missing!

He's nothing special -- just a repaint of "All Good Things" Worf -- but he's nice to have all the same. I'm just glad he cost me $8 rather than the original $60!

Given that Playmates was looking for a cheap repaint for the set, it would've been nice if they'd done Season 2 Worf. (They would've only needed paint Season 1 Worf gold.)

...I always thought it classy that when Playmates issued the subset of figures with firing weapons, they made a special Season 2 Geordi rather than re-releasing another version. Too bad I had to customize Worf to match!

That's the one, FHC!

I opened him up and put him next to AGT Worf. He's kind of bow-legged after all these years sealed up in the box!

Bizarre colour scheme on him! I don't recall Worf ever wearing blue pants. ;-)

There were only 40,000 made. At the time that was a low amount! Things sure do change don't they.

You know, that's a very good point. DST's 1701 Geordi and Data figures have been easier to come by than this figure ever was!

I missed out on another hard-to-find figure back in the day: the mail-away Playmates Sisko. I bought the DS9 Super Nintendo game well after the offer had expired.

I've been meaning to post pictures of my collection, of which the bulk is Playmates figures. I also have a lot of the old Playmates ads stashed away in my archives...

I just got one of these.

A friend of mine that works in a Video Supply Warehouse here in Ottawa, Canada, while doing some clean up in the warehouse found a box full of these figures. She was able to grab one for me. The only thing is that they were all loose not boxed or attached to the Return to Grace movie. Weird but hey.... I got me a free figure. smile.gif

When she gave me the figure I was taken a back a little. I was like... Is that Worf with Blue Pants. WTF.

What is it about Ottawa that's attracting all these blue-pants Worfs?!

Cool! Thanks for sharing.

I wound up customizing my own, to go with the duty-uniform Dax, Bashir, and O'Brien figures.

I'm thinking of buying that set off of ebay.

I customized one by using the body of a TNG Q! That's not the body used on the actual figure, but it was good enough for my purposes!

Actually, the picture above is by FHC, and it's the real McCoy (er, Sisko). I haven't posted a picture of my custom (yet).
