A guy at allscaletrek has the 1/1000 Enterprise, and he's posted a load of pictures:

All in all, it looks cool, but there's one thing I really don't like, and that's the glossy plastic it's been made with. Definitely a line I'll keep my eye on in the future though.

Pretty impressed by it, hopefully they'll continue with the larger scale ships.

A guy (jgoldader) at Starship Modeler has posted some pictures of the D7, and I'll definitely be getting one when they're out over here. Apologies in advance, as it's a photobucket link:

The TOS Enterprise is really tempting to go along with that, but the gloss man, the gloss! Either way, I really hope they move onto the movie-era and TNG, as I'd absolutely love to get all of them in 1/1000 scale.

Slowly been working on my D7 over the past 24 hours, and am really enjoying it! I've so far managed to eliminate some of the gaps visible on the one in my last post (the photobucket one), but that's because I've been glueing mine together and letting it set with clamps holding it. The green colour is something I'd judge to be quite vile on 90% of other things, but on this, I absolutely love it. lol

At present, I've already glued the upper and lower hull halves together, and am just allowing it to set in. There's a few small gaps on the edges which are nothing major, but I'm probably going to attempt to fix them before finally putting the nacelles on. The only tip I have so far, is to put certain pieces together as soon as they're ready, and not wait until every module is made and sticking it together at the end. An example of that is the little thing on top of the aft hull (shuttlebay, impulse engine and baffles). Stick that down to the upper hull before proceeding. If you're glueing like me (which I'd recommend with this, especially the neck and hull), then DEFINITELY attach the neck to the main hull before putting the halves together.

More pictures soon. I reckon I'll have it done by tomorrow, or later today with a sore back. :)

I hate the aqua green personally, but I know it's true to the studio model! I like my D7s plain and gray.

Finished it, will post photos in a bit, but here's a quick one taken whilst the model was still shaking on the stand ever so slightly (as is evidenced by looking at the port nacelle), with a filter placed over it, and the stand crudely removed in MS paint:

A couple more photos. I admit, I couldn't resist putting a greenish filter on the images, although the colour is next to no different.

The kit provided two sets of the 'inlay' on the trailing edge of the hull. One set is what you see below (ridged), and one set was flat smooth, which is accurate to the original studio miniature. I love the clean look of the TOS ships, but I decided to go with the ridged ones because I like them, and I plan to weather it a little bit at some point, so these should look really good when dirty.

The bow looks quite rough here (in need of a light sanding), so I'll sort that out tomorrow. To my eyes as I look at it (in real life, not photos), it looks perfectly fine - though I'll still fix it.

Gorgeous outline. I really hope they bring out a K't'inga at some point!

1/1000 scale, just under 23cm (9 inches), so will display really well next to the DST Enterprise-B, Corgi Bird of Prey or the Eaglemoss Defiant. :)
