^^^Thanks for the clarification Will!

I must admit, I almost said that there was a summer special in the offing because I thought I'd heard that, but then thought I'd got it mixed up with the RND effort.

The boys may actually have a point: although I like the Star in the Resonably-Priced Car segment, the interview that goes on beforehand takes up quite a bit of time. The format is fine, but like anything, even that can get stale and maybe the boys are thinking ahead and want to be procative before the show gets criticised as samey. I guess there is a limit to how whacky the car stunts can get too.

My daughter has just said to me "guess who I saw yesterday....."

It turns out that she saw none other than.................The Stig at a petrol station yesterday afternoon!! blink.gif

Naturally she knew it was the Stig because he was wearing his white helmet. He was driving an orange car with a camera buckled onto the side.

Obviously the rumours about the demise of Top Gear have been greatly exaggerated!

thats awesome, Jules!

pity she couldn't get a peek at who was under the helmet lol

i wouldn't get too excited just yet, Jules. remember, the boys said there would be a summer special - thats what the stig could have been filming (i'm not sure how long a TG ep takes to make tho). nonetheless, i will continue to live in hope!

^^^As will I!

Miranda was travelling in a minibus with some other cadets. Her Warrant Officer tried to burn him off...................in a minibus, so the Stig just pulled out and zoomed away leaving them in the dust! rolleyes.gif

*cue Kevin Keegan impression* i would love it, absolutely LOVE IT, if the TG film crew have footage of that!

i can just see the laughs of derision from Hammond and May with JC shaking his head wondering 'why?' LOL

^^^Well LOL! I think it was amuse the whole of 93 Squadron no end as well! Indeed, a certain Warrant Officer may never be able to live it down, but you've got to admire his chutzpah!

It's The Stig............resistance is FUTILE!!

Well, Jules, you wanted it revivied!

Anyone catch May's show tonight? I thought it was quite interesting. LOL at the 1908 car not being able to go up a hill because of the gravity-controlled petrol system

Gotta love May's 'Big Art Attack' (Lol, i'm really dating myself with that one) of a Space Invader!

^^^I caught some of it. The section about the rocket. It's on at a bad time for me because I have to nip out and fetch our daughter from cadets right in the middle of it, which is most annoying. I'll be organised next week and record it! I'm looking forward to seeing James in the centrifuge! laugh.gif

did anyone catch hammond's rebuttal to the claims of the TG team destroying Africa in yesterday's Daily Mirror? he said we should able to see what all the fuss is about sometime near christmas

dare we take this as a sign that a new series of TG is indeed on the way?

BTW, i'm still looking foward to this TG summer special we were promised, but it looks like i'm gonna miss it as i'll be in mauritius for 5 weeks as of july 23rd...

^^^Aw bad luck! You'll have to rely on me giving you the lowdown!

I didn't see Hamster's rebuttal, but when it comes to TG, all publicity is good publicity, and people will tune in to find out what the fuss was about even if they don't normally watch TG!

i've waited for it all summer (or is that autumn?) long, and just as i suspected, the week i go away those lying cheats at the BBC decide to broadcast the TG special (Weds 8pm). And its a race, no less! Arggh!!

^^^Aw Will! I feel your pain! You're gonna have to ask someone to record it for you. sad.gif

I hadn't even spotted this in the Radio Times. Normally they trumpet the return of TG. I hope this isn't an indicator that they can't balance all this eco-sermonising with a little un-PC carbon belching?

^^^Martin!!! We thought you'd gone away! Great to see you back! biggrin.gif

Well, what can I say? We thought last night's trip to the North Pole was vintage TG!! Will must make every effort to watch this show because there are too many funny things to relate!!

Off the top of my head:

~James on the "Bumper Dumper" raging at Jeremy for driving while he was doing his daily dump!

~James spiriting of a bottle of wine from his Fortnum's hamper!

~Jeremy reaking revenge on a tin of Spam!

~The boys collective reaction to being shown photo of frost-bitten willy!

~ The fact that going to the loo in the North Pole involves taking a roll of loo paper and a shotgun - apparently polar bears will take advantage of anyone with their pants down!

~Just about every time Hamster fell of the back of his sleigh!

~Jeremy s******g b***ks when driving over very thin ice!

~ The boys trying to ski!

~ The Special Forces' guy with the pixellated face going ballsitic at the boys' inability to erect their tent!

~ James and Jeremy taking full advantage of technically being "at sea" where there are no drink-driving laws and quoffing G&Ts while at the wheel!

....I shall think of some more things soon! tongue.gif
