I hear rumor of the glassless system coming, but the glasses add that 3D charm for me.
My only regret ... the limited selection of movies. It's getting better though.

By the way, also, I REALLY wanted that free mail-in promo TOS Phaser remote control that was offered with the HD-DVD purchase ... but much to my dismay, this was NOT available/offered to Canadian residence (damn).
A couples of years thereafter, I bit the bullet and got a PS3 blu-ray player. I do have the complete TOS episode on blu-ray but still have yet to play them,
... still watching most of the rented movies via standard DVD player, though.

We've been looking at a Samsung 3D as a possibility.. but have been told by two friends now that Samsung products break down a lot more than others. What swayed you to Sony, if I may ask..?

As for 3D TV, I'll wait until those glasses aren't needed and there are a lot of 3D films and TV channels.
