Thanks for the belated birthday wishes fellas - turned the big 3-0 and had a brief holiday in Sydney where I traded intense heat for intense humidity!

I fly my ships round late at night, usually making better sounds than the actual ships can make (Playmates First Contact Enterprise E - wft are those sounds!?).  Plus in my imagination they all have landing struts like Voyager and can safely set down upon my desk :-)  Daysleeper sounds like both of us have tolerant, understanding partners :-)

J-R dude I dunno whats going on with your postage system dude - maybe think about moving to Australia.  Australia Post has realised that no one can be arsed sending letters anymore, so its basically a parcel delivery service, and a pretty good one at that too.

Okay Galoob shuttle - firstly, what an awesome toy!  Secondly, I decided to leave the stickers off and it looks much better (though due to minimal seating Tasha Yar has been relegated to the seatbelt-free cargo area.  Displayed with the Goddard it looks great - though I think the DS9 runabout stole the Goddards "Phasers firing" sounds....hmmm.

On my last few days of holidays till thursday and then I'm back to the action figure store.  Got my eye on a Playmates Romulan Bird of Prey (TNG Version) which I would very much like to take home and fly around :-)

....and whatever Bite Free is - it sounds terrible - we dont have THAT here!

OMG! I'm SO much older than you! ROFL!

Picked up my last box today, the set of Seaquest figs and some Spidey stuff and my two Trek calendars, lol! Seaquest figs came with some extra figs,so I might open a Lucas and Darwin. Maybe Hitchcock. Wonder if I can make her into Lana Lang from the Superboy tv series?! LOL!

Day off tomorrow so might play around a little with all my new,and old, shiny toys. I love that Galoob shuttle, was just kinda.....oohkay....when I found out it was used. It's in really good condition, just some Starfleet stickers missing.

Well I CAN get it deliverd to my door but that'd cost me 15 bucks, and this dump of a backwards country get enough money from me already, not giving'em a DIME more than I have to!

Your Kurn figure wasn't in any of my boxes by the way. It arrived day after I left along with my Hot Wheels Vengeance, but my friend is sending it soon as two other items arrive,so it WILL be yours soon, lol!

Only thing I regret is not putting more candy in any of my boxes. A bag of Almond M&M's and rainbow Twizzlers won't exactly last me till I get back there. HECK,it won't even last me over the weekend,LOL!

Told the kids about my boxes and said I have two new spaceships, and they were like,WHAAAA?!? LOL! And of course the usual questions. Does it work? Can I fly in it and go into space? Do I live inside them? Can I bring them to work so they can see them? Why do I have so many toys? ROFL! Kids are funny. I still like it when they ask what I'm gonna be when I grow up,lol!

Well at least I have some FUN stuff to check out over the next few weeks,if I spread my new toys out over that period of time, lol! Gotta find some space for them. Really should go to Ikea and get some more shelves, lol!

OH and Bite Free is this crap you put on your nails like nail polish to prevent you from biting your nails. It tastes REALLY bad,for most people. Guess I'm one of the few who actually like the taste, lol! Still bite my nails, yeah, really bad habit, but I've gotten a little better at not doing it,lol!

Well to me age is just a number - truth be told I still feel like I'm 17 years old inside my head.

How weird!  I'm going through yet another Seaquest phase as well and hunting down the figures.  Still searching out Darwin, but have everyone else.  Why does Lucas wear a denim jacket over a wetsuit?  Who does that?  Poor Jonathan Brandis.

Thank you once again for the Kurn figure - so very very much appreciated.  The hot wheels vengeance is pretty cool too.  I think it was the once piece of merch I own from that film (not that there was much on offer)

I actually ration out my toy openings (when there is more than one) - only one per day.  Its my own personal legislation and helps me out when there is no money for collectables.  The Starfleet Officers Box Set (with the dress uniforms) was a birthday gift and lies unopened, taunting me with its Riker figure :-)

As a rule, I try not to buy loose toys - mostly because I'm a bit of a germ freak and I want the first pair of dirty hands to touch the item to be mine :-)

Well at least you would have half decent chocolate over there - because of the climate they put something in Aussie chocolate to stop it melting.  So the candy aisles are often dominated with whatever garbage Cadbury see fit to distribute to us.  Though there are a handful of foreign candy stores about town - worth tracking down if only for their Twizzlers (yes, I like them too - though it made me sugar crazy) and UK mars bars with proper chocolate!

I must say that I was a bit disappointed that Playmates re-used their dress uniform body for Riker. He looks too small and too thin. But other than that, it's great having him in his dress uniform. :D

Mmmh chocolate... I'm on a diet at the moment, so even mentioning chocolate makes me drool.

Well hey I've always been a sucker for anything Riker related and I'd say that it's the only one that I don't have.  Oh wait...there was a Transporting Riker as well.  Don't have that!

Yeah the standard old dress uniform body used by Geordi & Data with the monkey arms.  At least they tried to give us something unique.  The later Sisko and O'Brien figures in dress uniforms were much better in my opinion and didn't look as 'chunky'.

In my line of work, it seems as though I'm always on a diet.  Though I do allow myself some chocolate.  The trick is to pick your favourite one and stick with it - dont waste your time with inferior products (once again, Cadbury, I'm talking to you!)

Oh right, you're a personal trainer, right? Oh well, I have an office job. That plus having a sweet tooth is terrible for staying in shape. At least, the Shat tought me how to suck in my belly. :D

Agreed on the later dress uniform figures. I don't mind the monkey arms too much, it's just that Riker should be taller and a little bit more bulky than Picard, Data and Geordi.

Half decent chocolate? In THIS country? No we don't. It's all very bland and boring. I've found a few I tolerate though, same with food and drinks. Closest thing to a Kit Kat is something called Kvikk Lunsj......yes,it translates to Quick Lunch, lol! People TRY to convince me that there's a lot of good food here, but there really isn't,for ME! I tell them that even if I make the stuff I like it doesn't taste the same as the ingredients don't taste the same, obviously. Even the Fanta here tastes like cra....bad....and there's even a difference in Coke and all the other drinks. And the selection sucks! No Pineapple Fanta,Vanilla Coke,Cherry Coke,Root Beer,Hawaiian Punch,Dr.Pepper,Mountain Dew and so on. ALL my fave drinks, lol! I've found a couple of places that import Vanilla Coke and Cherry Coke though, and Root Beer and Dr.Pepper, but at 3.50 bucks for a can of VC or Root Beer I don't actually buy it that often. Only when I REALLY miss the US or UK,lol.

Age. LOL! I'm mostly 15 or 16 in my head, lol!

And since I'm WAY too fat I should probaly......hmmm,maybe I should move to Australia and hire you as my personal trainer, lol!

I'm not a germ freak, but I very rarely buy loose stuff for my collections. Guess it's just some kinda habit. I just wanna be the first one to open MY new toy, lol! Just call me The Snobster,LOL! My Seaquest figs ARE brand spanking new though, all MOC and even came in the box they use to ship it to stores. Says Seaquest on the side with the logo and so on. Kinda neat. So I guess Lucas was the multiple packed one. Yeah,I never got that whole denim jacket thing either. Was kinda sad to hear that Jonathan killed himself way back when. I liked him as Lucas, and he was good in IT as well. Don't remember which of the Neverending Story movies he was in,think it's the third one.

Opened all my new stuff,no regrets of course. VERY rarely have any regrets about what I buy. Still a bit pissed off that the stand for my DST Enterprise was broken, the smaller stand, but I might be able to fix it with some superglue, wouldn't be the first time, lol! Have to get some of that stuff to glue the neck bit on it as well. It's WAY too open. Other than that, all my stuff was great! Only thing I've not opened yet are any Seaquest figs and the Spidey bluray set, which has two nice looking figurines I can display.

Thinking of chocolate though,Cadbury in the UK has GREAT chocolate, not so in Aussieland? LOVE the Mars bars in the UK! Taste so yummy and chocolatey, that rich smooth caramel just melting in your mouth and the whipped creamy fluffy light brown....whatever that is,lol! And the full on chocolate assault that hits your tastes buds as that first bite just makes your head spin with joy,and a wave of memories just gives you sensory overload with every bite you take after that. Very few chocolates gives me that sensation,it's spine tingling and brain meltdown at the same time. Do you get the feeling I like chocolate? LOL! Some Mars bars I sent to someone in L.A. ended up at JPL. Her husband is a rocket scientist there so he took some of the ones I sent and gave them to the team that was trying to get Spirit loose on Mars, lol! She got stuck in a ditch a few years ago.

Crap tv time, and Twizzlers.....which give me almost the same feeling. Every time I get my hands on some rainbow Twizzlers, especially,my mind just shuts down and I'm gone. I'm back in the US,various places, but mostly at my beach....Long Beach,WA.,......and I'm just walking along the beach, sitting down every now and then, watching a gorgeous sunset, looking at the waves crashing in,the seagulls and pelicans floating on the wind, people flying kites or having fun in the ocean, and the beach just goes on and on and on. And I have certain songs in my head....DEFO need an ipod when I'm there sometime, lol. It's one of the worlds longest beaches, apparently. I have yet to walk from one end to the other as it takes a few hours. And I love all the little stores when I'm back walking the streets. And people are always so nice there. The ones who live and work there, not necessarily the tourists, lol!

By the way Jim,do you know how to surf? Not just asking 'cos you're an Aussie....I know it's a myth that all Australians surf, not all Craplandians ski either,or even KNOW how to ski,I hate it!....just asking 'cos I'm curious. It looks like fun when I see'em on my train rides from L.A. to San Diego, and back. Half the train ride is along the beach, lol! Also see the ones who just stand on their board and kinda paddle. Forgot what it's called. I did ask two girls on the train once, lol!

Ok,this became a novel again. Time for Twizzlers and crap tv,or maybe some Trek or Seaquest, lol! Probably end up with Andy Griffith Show again though,LOL!

Have fun!

Ah Daysleeper - dont forget that Frakes and Shatner most likely shared the same girdle (depending on what season you watch!).  But yeah he shoulda been taller.  He does tower over Picard, and I have seen him at conventions and he appears a mighty, mighty man!

I worked in an office for ten years.  Thats why I got into fitness.  Though I now realise how spoiled I was in some ways.  Free internet access, regular breaks, nice air conditioned office, action figure covered desk...

J-R your Seaquest box sounds like some kind of fevered dream!  I'm always after some shred of new information on a show that no one seemed to care about and that existed pre-internet.  Brandis was in Neverending Story 2, and in 1999, auditioned for the role of Anakin Skywalker.  I wonder how different his life would have been had he got that part.  Guess his demons got the better of him, poor guy.  Still, I commemorate his life by displaying his plastic likeness with its oddly muscular legs.

So I'm getting the vibe here that you dig chocolate and sugary drinks...

We have vanilla coke here, but I havent had it since I was a kid.  The government has all these ads on TV at the moment telling us how sick soft drinks (soda) will make us, and they just reduced the size of the cans as well to get their message across.

If I gorge on anything, it will usually be crackers or some kinda savoury no-no.  Do you have Ritz crackers there?  Oh I can eat a whole packet of em by myself fairly quickly and without noticing until the shame sets in lol!

We have a belgian chocolate here called Guilyan.  They are shaped like seashells and are probably my favourite.  If I am ever given a box, I ration them out slowly for a few weeks until finishing them in an epic chocolate feast before placing the empty box back into the pantry so no one notices :-)

I'm afraid Aussie beach culture is limited to coastal towns and the dreadful ads produced by Tourism Australia.  I grew up an inner city kid, so while I cannot surf, I did learn to make small explosives.  Thats not to say that I'm not partial to the beach now and then.  Though if you go with me, we must play in the ocean and try and find sea creatures which I will then likely throw at you or some children to scare them.  Then there will be ice cream.  Those are the rules. :-)

How bout those Star Trek figures eh?  :-)

Star Trek figures? Star Trek? What's that? Is that the new show about the universe and such, out in March? They already made figs from that!?! SWEET! Don't think it's called Star Trek though......ROFL! Yeah,Star Trek figs are fun. Never thought I'd STILL be buying Playmates ST figs in 2014! LOL!

We have Ritz crackers, taste crap here....of course, lol. But I buy some whenever I'm in the US. I love the little ones with cheese in the middle, and the regular ones, and the Simpsons ones were pretty good too. Smors or something.

Yeah,my Seaquest box of figs look they fell off the back of a truck. And Lucas sure wasn't shortpacked, lol! 3 of him!? 2 Darwins and 2 Hitchcocks. 1 each of everyone else. And totally saving that box! So Jonathan B. was in NS 2? Ok,good to know. Who the heck was in NS 3 then?! Hang on,gotta IMDB it,lol.........OHHHH,so it was the kid from the Free Willy movies that was in NS 3. Ok. Well they were certainly pushing it with movie 3. I did enjoy the first one, don't even remember if I saw the other two. I do remember that Flash guy,John Wesley-Shipp was in one of them. I used to like that Flash show, lol! Only got one season though, very expensive to make, apparently. JB was in a lot of stuff before he died in 2003 though, didn't know about half the stuff he's done.

Explosives,ey? I LIKE it! You a regular MacGuyver then? LOL! Never watched that show, always hated it for some weird reason. And I thought it was a given when you're at the beach that you'd jump in the ocean for some absolute FUN?! I have to admit though,I'm not a big fan of the things in the ocean. I LOVE watching it on tv,just not interacting with it in real life, lol! Mostly sharks though, lol! LOVE shark week on Discovery though. But I always jump in the ocean every chance I get. Didn't while at my beach for New Years though, too cold, lol! But every summer I get to go there,I'm in. OH,OH,OH,gotta tell a little story again! Ok.....

It was a .....NO,not dark and stormy night,LOL......bright and sunny day. I was walking on the beach with my American mom and Genevieve, the dog. I had borrowed Lukas' kite....he's the grandson,17 now, still stay in touch with him actually....as it was a nice windy and sunny day. It was one of those cheap Spidey kites. The garage was full of kites, don't really know why I chose that particular one,but I did. So I was flying the kite and American mom took some pics of me with the disposable camera I had with me while doing so. She and Genevieve walked on while I lagged behind more and more, having fun flying the kite. I stopped for a while to catch up with them but then suddenly got the urge to jump in the ocean. I waded out....and out and out....till the water got to my waist. SUDDENLY a HUGE wave came at me,lifted me up and almost slammed me down. Just lifting me up like that is pretty WOW as I'm a big fat guy, lol! So I turned around to wade back in again, before another huge wave came along. Too late! Another huge wave came up behind me,lifted me up again and just dragged me under. I thought, ooooh I'm gonna drown, but got my head above water again and spluttered and was just laughing my ass off! It was just SO much FUN! Of course,I never intended to go for this kinda swim and hadn't actually taken my clothes off,so everything got wet, even the kite and disposable camera and the money in my pocket, lol! Luckily just wearing shorts, tee and shortsleeved shirt, and the sandals I was holding in my hand,as I wasn't walking straight out,I was walking kinda sideways,so didn't wanna leave anything on the beach. American mom and Genevieve were miles ahead of me by now, lol!

Later, when I went for ice cream,I had to say sorry for the wet dollar bills and explained to the girl that the ocean tried to take them, and told her how I almost got dragged to sea, lol! I DID find out that undercurrents are no joke. Up to that point I had always thought, when people told me about that, well just bloody swim then! lol!

So yeah,a fun summer. Got a really bad sunburn on my bald head though. Not thinking at ALL,as the wind was so nice and cool, but the sun was still beating down on my head, lol! Looked like a frickin' leper! And I was off to Comic Con two days later! Had to tell Simon Pegg and that director friend of his,Edgar Wright, that it was just a sunburn, lol!

But BOY was that ice cream at the beach EVER so good! And yes,I did save Lukas' kite as well,LOL! And only two or three pics were destroyed when I got the film developed, lol! So it was all good.

I have to admit I'm actually looking forward to the new Cosmos show. I loved the Carl Sagan one,and this one looks pretty good too. Cosmos A Spacetime Odyssey. NEAT!

Hey there,

Yeah for sure, currents are not be messed with dude.  Great story, I have had a few experiences like that, though am usually looking to meet a jellyfish or some such sea creature (I got stung by one last year - strange sensation!).  Luckily in Australia, our money is plastic, and thus water resistant :-)

Haven't heard of the Carl Sagan show - gonna have to check out some YouTube trailers.  Is it a documentary series?

I've just started watching a show called Last Resort - a one season wonder from last year about a crew on a submarine.  Th trailer made it look like a Seaquest-y so I got it.  The cast are nice enough to look at, and it only cost me $20.00 so I'll give it a chance.

If you got a spare Darwin, I'll happily haul it away for you dude.  Though I have to say I think the likeness of Hitchcock is pretty amazing in that series - also she has a variant with a black undershirt instead of her usual red engineering shirt!

Yeah poor Brandis - I have a younger sister, and when we were growing up - he was one of the many non threatening teen boys on her wall.  Guess he really needed Seaquest.

Nothing quite like MacGyver - but I guess city kids do different things like...errr...hang around the city.  There was lots of loitering - I remember that, and many fights at the train station.  Typical boy stuff, at least it was to us.

You have Simpsons Ritz?  And Ritz with cheese?

We're getting jibbed here in Australia - the only two versions available are original and 'salt reduced'.  **sigh**

And as I reply to you today - its Australia Day (or as some call it "invasion day"), so I'm about to head out to go and see a bunch of bogans wearing Australian flags as capes and getting drunk in the street.

Happy Australia Day :-)

HAPPY AUSTRALIA DAY!!!! Is it like the US' 4th of July? lol!

No,that's the Ritz crackers I buy in the US,here we have what you have, the bland boring stuff, lol!

Well,if you ever get stranded in a boat far out at sea and don't have any water, jellyfish is your friend, the non stinging ones,as you can eat them and quench your thirst at the same time. Not tried it yet,as I've never been stranded, only lost in the woods.....but that's a different story, lol!

I DEFO have to check my Hitchcock figure! Just to make sure I have a variant or not. Probably not, lol! Yeah,I could send ya a Darwin. You might have to wait till March though,as I won't get Kurn in time to send from London in February. My friend in Raleigh hasn't sent it yet as he's waiting for two or three other items to arrive as well,so I can get it all in one box.

It's Sunday,I'm awake during daylight,so I guess now's the time I should do what this thread is about. Sort out the loose joints. LOL! BUT I don't have what I need so it has to wait. And stores aren't open here on a Sunday so I couldn't get what I need even if I wanted to. Just a few tiny little grocery stores, like 7-11 and gas stations are open. Besides,I never usually leave the house on a Sunday if I don't have to. If I'm out traveling I do of course go all over the place even on a Sunday,as most things ARE open everywhere else but here, backwards dump of a country, lol!

Last night I ALMOST pm'ed ya,if nothing other than to do e-mails instead of posting here,LOL! Wonder how many of the people here actually read our posts? Can't be many as I've said more than once that a lot of the questions were for everyone, and not many replied, except for Daysleeper.....THANKS DUDE!!!!!

HEY,maybe he sleeps during the day and is up at night, like me?! LOL!

WAS gonna do a Back to the Future marathon today, but that was in my head last night, now it's not there anymore, lol! Instead I downloaded Star Trek The Secrets of the Universe from youtube and will watch that. The Carl Sagan series is very old, probably why they're doing this new one,but not with Carl,he died years ago. I don't remember this new guys name, but the series looks great!

Last Resort was ok. The main guy was in a show with Scott Bakula and that Raymond guy.....and NO,not EVERYBODY loves Raymond! I frickin' HATED what little I saw of that show JUST because of the title! SOOO misleading,lol.....but I have nothing against the actor, and these three had two seasons of a show called Men of a Certain Age,and for some strange reason I enjoyed it. It was just a drama with some fun bits in it. It helps that the characters are likeable of course, lol!

Ok,off to Space.....let's see what's out there......

In some ways Australia Day is similar to the 4th of July in the US, though is often marred by controversy every year.  It does, after all celebrate imperialism, and the arrival of British colonists who (though undoubtedly pioneers) engaged in the mass murder of our indigenous people.  So yeah, some Australians refer to it as "Invasion Day" while others simply view it as a perfect opportunity to engage in the national pastime - drinking.

I have mixed feelings about the event, and always have, but now simply just look at it as another day off which is quite nice :-)

Speaking of not leaving the house - I can relate - we have another heat wave on the way, so looks like I'll be getting stuck into Super Mario World on the Super Nes again (just like I did last heat wave!)

Yeah I remember Men Of A Certain Age - Scott Bakula looked like he had pirate hair or something.  Quite a departure from his clean cut Captain Archer look.  I checked out Star Trek Secrets of the universe - looked pretty cool - dunno why THAT wasnt on the blu-ray - but I guess thats another controversy entirely!  I must say though (and I know I am possibly in the minority here) - I strongly dislike Simon Pegg.  He has ruined Scotty, and every moment he was on screen (in Into Darkness) was painful to me.

Sorry - rant over!

Yes!  Send me an e-mail dude - james@destructo.com.au

And no, I don't like Raymond either.  But the show went nine seasons or something.  They gotta be doing something right.  Righter than Star Trek Enterprise, Firefly, Terminator Sarah Connor Chronicles, V, Stargate Universe, Caprica...

Guess no one's watching sci fi at the moment.

There wasn't ANYTHING on those blurays! It was all over the bloody place! Don't get me started on how Paramount are screwing the fans over and over, lol! I refuse to buy STID till they make a nice 2-disc dvd or br with ALL the extras in ONE convenient package. Till then I'll......watch it elsewhere. Pegg isn't so bad,he's a fun guy,I bumped into him several times one year at Comic Con. It got to the point where we just went, ayup mate, every time we saw each other, lol! Him and that director friend of his,Edgar Wright. They were there to promote Shaun of the Dead. Fun movie, but I enjoyed Black Sheep as well,LOL! Laughing my ASS off when the sheep was driving the truck over a cliff,LOL!

Ok,will send ya an e-mail at some point. Some night or other, lol!

Still wanna do my Back to the Future marathon, and for about half an hour today I was into Superman again, lol! NOT doing a marathon of that though. I was looking at the pics of the Hot Toys Superman from last years movie and it really is a great figure. If I could just get past the price. I can't seem to get myself to pay that much for a doll,LOL! Yes,I've said it before on the forums here. Great looking an'all, but it really is pricey. But who knows, maybe I'll cave in one day and get it.

Saw the new Doctor in his new costume today and it's a bit meh. Plain and ordinary looking. Guess I'll continue saving a bundle of dosh on Who stuff then, lol!

My Ultimate Bumblebee has some loose joints but how on Earth do I fix a Transformer?! LOL! He can still stand up,but not very straight,so I have to display him leaning his back against a wall or something,to make him stand up and look cool! Not really into Transformers so not really bothered, just thought I'd stay on topic,LOL!

Tomorrow is show and tell at work but I don't usually bring anything as all my toys are much cooler than what the kids bring so it's kinda unfair to them. I've brought my interactive R2 a few times though,as the boys like SW and R2. And I brought some Spidey cheap looking tat a few times, and even a little Hallmark Enterprise, new movie version,as it lights up real nice and I tell them it's the spaceship I travel in,LOL! I usually tell them there's a button I press on it to make it really big and I fly wherever I wanna go and off into space during the weekends and stuff, and I tell'em about some of my adventures and it gets outta hand pretty quick as my imagination is really big! lol! I've even made them believe that I'm Superman at night and that Spidey is a good friend of mine that I meet up with every time I'm in New York,ROFL! And then I tell'em stories about THAT! And show'em pics, lol!

Anyways,I'm bored so I'm gonna finish this. Maybe get some sleep or whatever.

Have fun!

Have fun!
