If you had to choose..

Who would you want tackling the Star Trek (franchise as a whole) action figure and ship/role play license next and why?

I would go for NECA and Hasbro simply because i think that they both produce figures that are extremely popular with their respective target markets.

NECA:
They own the world of 7 inch action figures and more recently so with many of their figures now having more articulation than they used to have - i think this is the perfect choice for Star Trek to really get into a market DST have been awful at advertising for. NECA are solely a company that target the specialist stores and collectors/older fan who want more detail and quality than a kids toy and are willing to pay more money than they would for a kids toy. NECA in my mind would be given a license that would cover every aspect of Star Trek from TOS through to Enterprise and as well as Star Trek and Star Trek 2.0 with the new movie figures coming out first.

HASBRO:
The masters of Kids toys without a shadow of a doubt. Why CBS went with Playmates well i don't even think God knows but what will be will be. Had i had my way i would have given the license to Hasbro with the potential for them to keep their license for many years to come and model their Star Trek line on their Star Wars line. By and large kids want smaller figures so that they can play with them with play-sets. Parents like them because there small enough so that they can be packed away easily enough (excluding play-sets) plus Hasbro have become the leading company in this field and Star Trek would just add to their success with Transformers and Star Wars over a period of time. Hasbro in my mind would be given a license to produce Star Trek and Star Trek 2.0 figures with the chance to do Star Trek 3.0 (if there is to be a third) as well as TOS and TNG including their respective movies.

The thing is - Kids seem to like the 3 3/4 inch scale so it is ideal for the next movie to have a company that has so many licenses that kids LOVE (Transformers, Star Wars, Marvel, GI:Joe) - older kids (i mean us) seem to go for the larger figure because it enables companies to put more detail in their figures - NECA and Hasbro are the best of the bunch. in my mind DST and Playmates are the worst of the bunch so for Star Trek 2.0 i hope that by the time the merchandise comes around Paramount/CBS have got NECA and Hasbro onboard to produce some really amazing figures for both kid and the "older kid" in all of us above the age of 16.

DST Re-released TOS Crew Two packs

Does anyone have comparison shots of the DST re-releases of Kirk, Uhura, McCoy, Spock, Sulu and Scotty with the older AA releases and if anyone has both versions - what ones are better in your opinion??

What is the chance of Hot Toys getting a Star Trek (2009) license?

question is in the title but i would really really love for them to get a license to do the wonders they've done with so many films recently with Star Trek - i mean come on they have both Wolverine and Terminator - Trek is so far the biggest film of 2009 - it deserves the love from HT.

If DST were to pick up a "Star Trek" 2009 movie license what would you want to...
