Yeah, I have to say, that despite the already grumbling of how these look bad, that I am digging them. I mean who amongst us hasn't dreamed of actually flying the Enterprise around??

In the promo video that Tyco/Matell put out, the guy actually says that they had to change the look and design of the ships slightly just to get them to fly better.

So I think these are ment to be TOS inspired, but they can't be accurate and functional at the same time.

Still, I think they've done a bang up job!

Not sure that I'll pick up one, but if I were 10 years old I'd want one! (The big one!!!)

Kinda like the ESTES rocket versions of the TOS E and D7.  They had a few mods to make them launchable, but I was out there launching the Starship Enterprise and the Klingon D7 into sub-orbital (way sub...with a capital SUB...as in VLEA...VERY LOW Earch Oribit) engagements.  They actually almost crossed paths once.....kinda launched them pretty close to each other.

Was anyone else a little disappointed at the lack of new figures we saw from DST? I thought we'd be seeing a lot of new stuff.

I dont remember SDCC being a big launch point for DST in the past. I always thought NY ToyFair was always their big time. We did get esentially a new pair of klingons that surprised essentially all of us.

Toy Fair is a big launch for all toy companies from what I understand, but SDCC is a pretty big show for DST and the other companies. Once I get a chance to download and edit some of my pics, I'll post them. I have some pictures from DST and Mattels booth in over 275 pictures on my camera. I just hope everything turned out. The hard part is the plex glass beats a nice glare off of everything rolleyes.gif If anyone has a suggestion for a new, compact digital camera, send me a pm.

I think the Klingons are in scale with the TOS & TWOK figures. The borg are in scale with TNG & DS9.

The Klingons use the standard body that past releases use. The Borg are scaled up models that will be eventually cut down in size to be more in line with past releases
