Wow, I'm glad the collar's down! Bring on Regula 1 McCoy! biggrin.gif The facial sculpt from that angle looks like Arnold Schwarzenegger yelling. O_O

The packaging is really odd to see after the TWOK-style, but hopefully it will be eye-catching enough to interest people at retail. However, I hope the other exclusive figure compliments this one, otherwise I can see it sitting as potential new buyers see it and think; "well, it will look incredibly random by itself, and there are no others?"

I'm going to Toys R Us this Saturday, did you find it in the store or is that a pic you found?

I hope the new packaging guidelines don't require that Shat and Nimoy are on everything like that!

That would be a bit silly with respect to non-TOS product... or even the new movie...

Its a pic I found...

Being in Germany, I'm not sure, if the overseas TrU here will carry this.

Strange, hm? I thought the same thing...

For the "Motion Picture 2 Pack" they used a appropriate Shatner/Nimoy pic from the movie... strange they didn't do that for this WoK packaging...

Kudos to DST for redoing the collar. I wouldn't have thought it likely that they'd bother.

Well, at least I didn't finish Spock since that one will be just an easy head switch...

Chekov and Sulu are just awaiting their heads...

Nice work.

I went and checked my local TRU but they did not have any of the Kirk figures. I did manage to find a TRU BSG Apollo though. So some stuff is hitting.

Sallah, are those made from the original Regula 1 Kirk? If so how did you do the collars?

Yep! The collar sections were kinda tough. I started by removing the collar section from the figure by heating it up and prying it off the body (it's an entirely seperate section from the turtleneck). I then dremeled off the excess red section since the collar being folded down would have covered it anyway. Then I reshaped the remaining color by heating it, pushing it down into the desired shape, and then immediately cooling it. A little bit of paint and they were all done...

Probably would have been easier to wait...but hey, at least I'm not buying them all over again!

No Trek at my local TRU. But they did have the Iron Man Minimates 2-pack from DST that is part of this push into TRU.
