Im getting very discouraged by this line! First I feel like it took forever for wave one to come out and now I feel like its taking forever for subsequent waves to come out too! The Cylon looks nice but Im not sure Im sold on the added articulation. I the show the robots seem very rigid which really wouldnt lend itself nicely to this setup. Maybe my impression is wrong. Im also not feeling the lack of retailer support of BSG! FYE had the Anders exclusive but no other figure. I want to get about 5 cylons but with no place to go Im not sure if that is going to happen for me. Lastly, some of the scuplts have been right on and some have been way off. Im still not sold on the Shaw scuplt and the Gina figure as a whole. For as good Razor was Im not sure DST is doing it justice.

I do agree that is taking forever to get these figures to us but I cant say the same for the likenesses. I think that for the most part they look realy good. At least better than most of the Trek figures that DST has done. Where they fall short is in the paint apps whcih we all know can hurt a figure pretty badly. As for the Cylon they do have a very rigid movement to them but are pretty capable of doing elaborate poses. But like you I am not sure that the figure need all of the elaborate articulation. I do have to say that the sculpt for them is great. I do wish that we would have been able to see the prototype of the classic cylon like DST promised in thier newsletter. But it seems to not have made it to the con.

Off Topic but did anyone notice the weapons locker number during Callies eavesdropping. 1701D. biggrin.gif Awesome. Thanks Ron Moore. On Topic I have not bought any BSG figures yet. IMHO they look nothing like the actors really.

Well if they do decide to do some classic stuff and make a daggit lets hope that it is not just any daggit. They need to make the ultimate daggit: Muffit. I realy realy realy hope they do a few Classic figures. I would be happy if we got Starbuck and Apollo in thier classic uniforms. Both of them in the brown jackets and not the caped dress uniform. I would also like a classic Boomer, Adama, Ty, Athena. But most importantly Classic Starbuck and Apollo.

Well if they don't we just have to find some one that has the a-team fig and cast face mans head and put it on a new body.

The more I watch BSG the more I love it. Truely compelling viewing.

I find the figures, like any DST line, are very hit & miss when it comes to resemblance. But overall I really like them.

The Good
Hot Dog - I find this a really good likeness
Helo - Good sculpt capturing his very defined features
Chief Tyrol - Paint lets him down slightly, but is still one of the best
Cain - to be determined, but the proto is excellent. Much better than DST's Ensign Ro figure.
Dualla - To be determind, but yet another great prototype IMO.
D'Anna - to be determined, but promising.

The Mediocre
Apollo - A better paint job would help, the sculpt seems to be there. The upcoming 2-pack verison looks great.
Six/Gina - I would not expect DST to do any better with Tricia's figures
Sam Anders - Head is ok...body is way off, atleast the arms are.
Starbuck - To be determined, also looks promising though.
Kat - to be determined but looks good so far

The Bad
BOOMER - Dear God...

A lot of people seemed worried the BSG sets will end before we see Adama Snr, Roslin, Baltar & Tigh. I would be truely sad if DST let the line die before they produce the commanding officer! & such important characters in general.

I agree, i would like to see a line of the original BSG figures. I dont see getting into buying the new BSG figures. I like Stargate,BSG and Star Trek, but the many figures, cost and crazy distribution and exclusives have lost me as a completist collector, and i am very selective with the Trek figures i continue to buy, and i only bought two Stargate figures and no New BSG figures before i quit . Right now im buying the Spock themed figures, all of the retro trek figures, will be getting the retro Apes figures, and would buy all of the Original BSG figures if they make them.

One thing i wonder about with DST's 7" lines of figures. I know that Original Mego figures, if kept MOC or MIB, in the proper conditions have stood the test of time for over 30 years looking just like they came out of the factory last week. Will DST's figures last and look as good 30 years from now? The Enterprise figures used some kind of rubber in some of the figures that i think will probably break down in time. I wonder about the plastic used in the newer figures, and the paint, do you think it will hold up, and for the collectors who invest money in MIP figures for possible resale in the future, will their investment pay off?
