And yeah I know, he's really an admiral in this outfit...but Mego calls him a Captain so that's what I did too...

Good review. Seems like the pants and boots really looked like that so at least they were accurate. I bought a Kirk in 1979 when they came out and i believe they like 7 or 8 dollars then. A regular 8" Mego figure went for $3.99 then, up from $1.99 to $2.99 back in the 1974 days. I still remember seeing a Star Trek Aliens set of figures hanging on the Family Dollar store pegs but my Mom wouldnt by me a Romulan because the $3.99 price tag was too high. sad.gif I liked the 12" mego figures, but the bodies were not as durable as the 8" figures and the legs commonly broke at the knee joint very easily. The uniforms were very nice. I wasnt crazy about the facial likenesses either, not as good as the 8" figures were.

I agree with you Sallah about the animated series look of the Klingon and Scottie (LOL). I think all of the Mego Trek were patterned after TAS if you really look at them. TAS was the current show w/ new episodes on the air when this line started. I love these reviews!!!! Keep up the good work.

Taking a look at that belt it makes me wonder if the new movie Playmates might have taken a cue from Mego.

Note the shoulder seams too!
