I don't know if this would help for the playmates figures, but you can find sunglass or eye glass cases in similar shape in black if you are looking to make one yourself. I have one, had to take off the batman emblem, but it fits the figures great.

They did use the same extra points of articulation in the thighs in the Voyager and limited FC line. I think the arms from the Seaquest are the same arms used for Voyager and the FC figures.
