DSTZach, I asked this question on my FB page; Why not the Klingon D-7 battle cruiser instead on the Romulan BoP? I love the idea of the BoP and I will get it when it comes out. As pointed on the FB thread the 50th for the series is next year and get where the company is going, but why not the Klingon D-7?? The D-7 had far more appearances of the series original run than the BoP, it would have seemed a better choice, I think there a are a lot more of us out there that want the D-7.

Im actually most excited for the Reaction figures.  An almost full bridge crew and a gorn/orion slave girl.  Even though I havent jumped on the kenner retro wave we see now, these just look too good to pass up!

As for the DST offerings, nothing really piques my fancy.  Never got into the Tek and both ships are big passes for me especially at that price point.  I gave up "buying to support the line" after the Borg wave was cancelled.  A D7 would have been an automatic buy for me (and would have been my first Trek DST purchase in years).  Hopefully we see that down the road.

The ReAction stuff looks like fun! Looking forward to seeing the Galaxy Quest figs, they were not on display at the North American International Toy Fair.....which is actually the official title, not New York City Toy Fair, lol! Kinda hoping they'll do Last Starfighter,Greatest American Hero,Lost in Space, and a few others,as well. It seems they're buying up licenses left, right, and center....literally. lol.

ReAction's products just aren't my bag. The sculpts, paint and articulation are all very retro, and I guess thats the point, but then they retail for about $10. For me they just aren't interesting at the price point. They'd have to be in the dollar store range, like $2.99 to make them fun little kitchkies.

The Reaction figures are a buy for me! They might even go better with the Playmates Galileo shuttle for a diorama display.

No TOS ReAction for me.  Anything else, maybe.  Some of the ReAction lines are a lot more realistic than others.  The upcoming Gremlins look pretty sweet from the glimpses I've caught, even the humans look good.  I hope they come with all the accessories displayed.

Looking forward to this one, then. You don't realise how good the sounds are on recent ships until you put some batteries in your old ones and press the button. :)

Edit: Yeah some insight into the choice of Romulan Bird of Prey would be nice. I've seen the ship crop up three times in just over the last year alone:
First as a plushy from QMX back in September 2013 (http://qmxonline.com...d-of-prey-plush), then as a new 1/1000 scale model kit from Round 2 unveiled last November (http://www.collector...h.Ag6VGKuT.dpbs), and obviously now from you guys as well.

Also, there's an Eaglemoss version coming up.

I remain super-excited about the TNG Phaser, but just to illustrate the breadth of design-variation for that model of Phaser throughout the series, here's an early Season 3 "hero" prop from Rick Sternback's website:

phaserb2.jpg

As you can see, it makes Playmates' (and Rubies') phasers look accurate again - there's room for every interpretation in my tech case, though :)

Zach, I mentioned a "Dolphin" phaser in another post somewhere - I meant "Boomerang" - this one - from Voyager season 2, DS9 season 4, and First Contact onwards. Please consider this a vote for a future DST release of that phaser. The electronics needn't even change between TNG ("Cobra") version and the Boomerang!

A line of TNG-era Tricorders to match the Phasers would be fabulous, too! The blinkies on the TMP Phaser-I make me think you guys can do those puppies justice!

Speaking of phasers, what is the nature of the variant Star Trek III phaser? Is it from that TNG episode "Final Mission"?

What little we have seen of the BoP looks really nice - a far superior sculpt to the Playmates version.

Cobra, Boomerang, Dolphin, and perhaps some variants in between (Voyager future Dolphin - black and grey - vs Nemesis - silver), doesn't matter, I'll have them all!

Pretty sure the variant shown was from ST IV: the voyage home

D'oh! I also meant the "Boomerang" when I quoted your post and put in a second vote for it, so please change my vote to one for a future release of the Boomerang as well. However, I'll still happily take the Cobrahead that we're getting along with the Boomerang, Dustbuster, Dolphin, and the variants Jay K suggested, just as I have multiple variations of the TOS phaser. I also second the vote for Tricorders to go with the TNG Phasers.

Also, it's good to hear that the NX–01 is getting the "spacelift" I kind of figured it'd be getting. I'll definitely be picking that up now that I know it'll bring the ship in line with my other DST releases. As for the TOS 1701, if this is the non–HD version, I might have to pick it up as well since I've had to remove my first run version from my display after it fell one too many times because of an issue with the stand. (I never knew that Deanna Troi helmed the TOS 1701, but apparently she did because the saucer section collided with my head twice, and there's only one person with a track record to make such an event happen. :P )

What funko is doing is exciting on a few levels:

  1. The reaction line is a hit and they are widest breadth of licenses I've ever seen anyone do.  Reaction isn't my thing I prefer 6" super detailed super articulated figures like Marvel Legends, Star Wars Balck series and:
  2. Funko Legacy line.  Their Game of Thrones Figures are AWESOME.  That said, I've never watched Game of Thrones and don't collect them.  But I will be buying those gorgeous firefly and rocketeer legacy line figures.  They've also hinted at other licenses in the legacy line coming up.

I'm sure when they negotiate the rights to a property, it's for multiple formats.  They're already doing star trek reaction.  Next year is the star trek 50th anniversary, they are doing more properties in the 6" line...what if...just what if....

As a TOS guy I am happy to be getting the Romulan.  I was a little surprised.  I was sure we were getting a D-7.  Maybe next year for the 50th!

Looking forward to finding out what the Federation ship is.  My money is on Reliant.

If the other ship is Reliant, do you think we'd see a 24th century Saratoga variant?  For sure we'd get a battle-damaged Reliant (hopefully with an "exploding" nacelle*).  I think the Soyuz class Bozeman might be a little too obscure.

* I don't know why but exploding nacelles are so cool to see - such a decisive blow.equinoxpt2_283.jpg

He is correct. The one pictured is a replica of the Phasers used in TNG's "Final Mission". The information in "The art of Star Trek" is incorrect.

Not a fan of the Romulan BOP. Not a fan of the chosen Trek III Phaser variant (Although it is cool they made it) and not too big a fan of the Cobrahead, however I will be getting one. I hope they get the shape correct.

As I've been pointing out, Zodou - there's a lot of wiggle room as to what shape is "correct" in the TNG Cobra, the props were relatively inconsistent, many of them lacked power meters.

If I'm getting an electronic toy, I want there to be a power meter, so DST has taken one end of the Cobra phaser "look" spectrum, and Playmates took the other end back in the nineties. I am super, duper, pooper - wait, not that last one - happy about that.

I found a video at the DST booth - they don't discuss the Star Trek stuff, but they do spend about half the video standing in front of the Trek display. The Phasers and Worfs, as well as the Excelsior, are visible, and the (maniacal) host is standing in front of the R-BoP, though he moves around a lot, so you can see it pretty clearly on occasion.

The haircut looks good, Zach!

Will... you're right about the great depth and boldness of the ReAction line. When I said it wasn't for me I based that on what I've seen on peggs. But allot of lines improve. If I see them and like them I may change my mind!
