Star Trek has proven many times that network television is not its friend. It thrives when fans seek it out. That was the case in syndication (repeat and first-run) and I'm sure the studio is hoping that'll be the case for streaming.

I'd still love to see what DST could do with Trek figures in the 3 3/4" category. Heck, I'd settle for Minimates that weren't the same recycled figures that have been offered before. A new series opens possibilities, I would imagine, unless CBS decides that – like the new Trek films – this upcoming TV show requires a separate agreement.

As for the 7" Select figures, the lack of articulation is part of what kept me away. I prefer to pose my own figures. That's what makes toys fun.

We finally have our TV show coming.  That's what we needed for better/more figures, right?  Too bad it's limiting itself in number of eyeballs it will be in front of.  Maybe if it were on CBS or FOX we would have Gotham-like figures in our future...but I'm guessing this new distribution format is not going to be as big of a driver for toy production.

I don't think it's limiting itself at all. Plenty of fans will sign up and if it's good enough then word of mouth will spread. International distribution will also be a huge, if not bigger part of the success of thus show as it will be shown on srandard TV stations across the world.

Diamond Select will certainly want to add to their Star Trek line with the current Star Trek series.

Absolutely.

The select line for me suggests a real chance for an expansive line of figures but I'd really urge DST to consider puttin in more articulation, at the very least as much articulation as their Select Kirk and Spock figures had.

He looks great but I'm slightly disappointed there seems to be no elbow articulation.

And also, I'd have loved DST to produce two Selects a year, seems more doable than two ships a year, plus one figure per year hardly keeps the interest there.

We made articulated figures for several years, including all of the characters we are currently making. If you don't have them, I'm sure they're not particularly expensive on the secondary market. That line went away because people stopped ordering it, not because we developed am allergy to articulation.

Yes, there should have been a secondary image. He also comes with multiple arms, for a variety of poses.

Okay IMHO this is the best Select so far!! I' hope DST reuses the Command Chair with a Kirk and maybe even a Select Captain Esteban!

Im familiar with the older line and I absolutely LOVE your first TNG wave of Worf and Riker but each of those cost me around £30 each and the Wrath of Khan figures cost a ton of money.

I'm still collecting the select line though and will continue to as it's an awesome line of figures. I just hope that as the line develops and grows the articulation comes back (if not all together then elbow and ball jointed necks) as you move (hopefully) towards figures we've never seen.... Chapel, Rand, Janeway, 7of9... Quark, Chang, Kruge.

Khan looks really impressive though and DST are clearly giving fans an affordable alternative to the MEZCO line coming this summer.

Will there be pegs on the base so Khan stands without falling over?

Also will he come with more accessories than what we've seen him with at toy Fair?

Also also is he going to hit stores before Christmas?

I'm not sure why the line would change its format as it continued, or whether we'd revisit characters we couldn't sell before, but anything is possible, I suppose.

Not everything was at Toy Fair: the alt legs, hands and head were not.

I believe the plan is to release the figure in 2016, but we'll see.

Alternate head!?!? Awesome!!!!

Would it not be possible to do as much articulation as Kirk and Spock Select had in some of he future figures? Articulated elbows at the very least?

And if we follow the same format as you are doing right now, it is a new line of figures that's recaptured a lot of fan interest. With figures like Rand and Chapel could it not be possible to do another Kirk Select with his TOS Captains Chair with Rand as a completely non articulated figures similar to the TOS Khan? Same with Chapel and Spock or McCoy?

As for Picard Select, clearly this one came and went without much in the way of interchangeable accessories or articulation. There's only one, maybe two poses you can get out of him. Is there room for another version of Picard that has more interchangeable pieces like the Worf Select? Or will your next Select figure after Khan contain parts you're able to use for Picard?

I think it would be a real shame if DST didn't branch out and do figures that ok might not have sold in the older line but would maybe sell in this Select format.

Surely Janeway and 7of9 are popular enough to warrant the Select treatment?

I also think that 1 figure a year isn't enough, two would be good, more would be better.

I would be interested in a movie Kirk Select figure with new headsculpt.  I never liked the head sculpt of the movie Kirks, and passed on them.

Admiral Kirk has to be a consideration as it would just be a reprint of the same chair and then a Death of Spock Select from the end of Wrath of Khan would be really poignant and cool.

I think Data is next though, I hope this time DST include eyebrows and not a wonky leg. Also I really hope they include accessories for Picard as he was really light on interchangeable parts and accessories.
