#82456 Any toys for Star Trek Beyond?

Posted by bgiles73 on 18 August 2015 - 08:55 AM

Mattel owns Megabloks and we are getting Trek Sets to coincide with the 50th Anniversary. Funny thing there is they are also doing Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle and Terminator Megabloks sets. All three of these licenses have been with Playmates Toys before. In all honesty, if Playmates would do for Star Trek what they are currently doing with TMNT, I would love to see Star Trek return there. Just stick to the one scale that did so well in the 90's and bump up the articulation and paint applications!

From what I saw these are Moebius's first attempt at figures. These will be fully poseable and that there will be more.

Has anyone else seen these?

#82146 Funko ReAction 3 3/4" Star Trek figures

Posted by bgiles73 on 18 July 2015 - 09:57 AM

They have never done full crews from the Season 1 or 2. The OCD side of me would definitely like to have this oversight corrected. I'd definitely prefer they start with the later, more familiar season looks first, and then give us season 1 and 2 looks as variants and retailer exclusives. I don't see myself mixing my Galoob and Reaction figures together, as the aesthetic of the two lines are different and that would bother the hell out of me! Lol I really hope to see a more accurate Q in Judges Robes.

#81585 Mega Bloks 2016 USS Enterprise (TOS)

Posted by bgiles73 on 10 June 2015 - 10:52 PM

Wow! That is awesome. I wonder if there is a bridge playset in that saucer? Those mini figures are going to be lots of fun too. I hope we will be able to buy extras of the mini figs like they do with Halo and other Megabloks licenses! I hope all the other series get a few sets too. I really hope that Megabloks can be as successful with Star Trek as they are with Halo and Call of Duty. It's going to be a fun year, these really make that weak Hasbro attempt with Kreo look like garbage. I would love it if Megabloks could bring light up features to their sets like Kreo had though.

Well, I said I was going to pass on these but changed my mind and preordered! These are awesome display pieces, either left in the box or out. They really have me wishing for a nice 6" or 3 3/4" line like Star Wars Black Series. While I don't think I would buy whole crews in Square Enix 10" scale I could maybe be persuaded to pick up a Klingon or Romulan. I'm not to sure I can readily justify the cost of these, but I'm not feeling buyers' remorse. I might if someone ends up picking up the license "cough, cough... Hasbro? Black Series?"

#74766 NECA Aliens Line

I can forgive the lineup in this line because the generic marine is a tribute figure in honor of the sculptor's brother who just passed away. We do have some awesome Anniversary figures on the way of the Nostromo crew in space suits that will certainly be worth the wait.

#73836 Next KRE-O Set?

Posted by bgiles73 on 08 January 2014 - 04:58 PM

I honestly thought this line was scrapped! I wonder if there will be any surprises from Hasbro at Toy Fair? In all honesty, I am just meh about Hasbro, Mattel, DST. None of these companies have really done anything worthy of anticipation, with the exception of the 6" Star Wars line. I find that the most ground breaking announcements are coming from Funko and Zica! But you never really know.

#72029 Super 7/ Funko Retro 3/4" Alien Figures and More

Posted by bgiles73 on 05 September 2013 - 07:48 PM

Well alright, looks like somebody has finally took a great idea and ran with it. I wonder if DST or some other company could do the same with Star Trek. I could see that old Galoob line taking off especially if that Enterprise Playset was made! Looks like I finally have a reason to buy DST's Delorean Time Machine too, since Back To The Future is one of the forthcoming line of figures! About time!

#71411 Star Wars: The Black Series

Posted by bgiles73 on 14 August 2013 - 10:58 AM

Finally found one of these! I got Luke in X-Wing Fighter gear. I'm absolutely blown away. This is the best Star Wars figure I have ever owned and I've been getting them since 1978. If we are ever so lucky as to get Star Trek figures by Hasbro I will truly be a happily broke fan! I am starting to think that 3 3/4" figures should stick to the 5 Points of Articulation figures like the Iron Man 3 and Star Wars Saga Legends figures. The collector range could be like this 6" Black Series range. Actually for Star Trek it would be best if they had 7 POA like Galoobs TNG and Zica's Six Million Dollar Man figures. The knee bend is needed so our captains and crew will look right sitting in their bridge stations.

#71073 Star Wars: The Black Series

Same here in Lafayette at Toys R Us. They had a case of the 3 3/4" assortment, but were all sold out of the 6" figures. For the first time in all my years of Star Wars collecting I was left feeling really disenchanted at the sight of new 3 3/4" figures. 6" Darth Maul and Sandtrooper will be mine!

#71070 Star Wars: The Black Series

There was that brief moment when I thought that the Square Enix figures from SDCC were From Hasbro's presentation. I'm getting so tired of all the letdowns from Star Trek license holders. When are they going to realize that there are those of us that would buy up everything on 1701's list?

#71059 Star Wars: The Black Series

If only. I keep hearing from people all over asking the same question, "Why are there no Star Trek toys from Into Darkness or TOS, or for 25th Anniversary of TNG or the 50th Anniversary?" If nothing happens in time for the 50th, than CBS and Paramount need to sell the Star Trek brand to Disney too!

I'm perfectly ok with the lens flares that these figures will cast. They will be movie accurate! Lol

#70837 Star Trek Select

Even NECA upped their game with more creative ways to hide articulation. That Picard is nothing more than a statue being passed off as an action figure. For me it brings nothing new to the table and will be an easy pass. Sorry if this offends, but that's just not my cup of Earl Grey.
