Well...

I bought the "exclusive" Star Trek ITD phaser bluray set on Amazon .... Now Qmx is releasing the exact same phaser as a retail piece for the general public.... What is the use of buying an "exclusive" if its just going to be released later in unlimited quantities!!! What a scam....

You bought an exclusive set containing the phaser and the film, can you still buy them together new, no; can you buy them separately in the future, well yes! You got some nice packaging out of it and had the chance to go 'pew pew' a few months before the rest of us. Not really a scam and pretty good for anyone who wants the phaser.}

I know you are right of course exelion... I just needed to vent lol.... I really thought this would be a limited edition prop exclusive to this set... but whatever....I vented and subsequently feel better ....

I'll prob buy the prop because they are fun, but I can't buy the movie.

I think the phaser / blu-ray set from Amazon was $79.99.  It included a blu-ray, dvd and digital copy.

BBTS .... has a preorder price of 59.99 on the phaser alone.... which is reasonable in my opinion.

Thats where I ordered it. So basically the set was $80, and the phaser cost $60, so you spent $20 for the DVD. I see the set listed for ridiculous prices. Like around $200! so if your not married to it, you might try and del the set and buy the phaser and blu-ray separately!

if you could get it for about the original $80 that seems like a deal, but the $200+ asking price for many of the auctions seems silly. I guess if you thought that was the only way to get the phaser and you had to have it.... but thats still allot of for QMX stuff. ah well, I waited and I'm happy to get the QMX one direct for $60!

Amazon has it in stock for 89.99 right now,which is way better than the ridiculous 200+ not long ago. A friend of mine in Raleigh just ordered the phaser for me from Qmx. I like the movie but Paramount are just screwing with the fans when they released a bluray and dvd with next to nothing in the special features section. I'll wait for a PROPER release,2 disc dvd set or whatever,like the previous movie. Yes,I know special features are all over the place,but that's not how I want it,lol! All nice and convenient in one place,thank you very much. And I know a lot of people cancelled their pre-orders just because of this,lol!

 

Do love the phaser though. Also hear rumours there's yet another version coming,with lights and sound and whatnot,in the 150 bucks range. I'll get that too,lol!

I have to agree with you Robster about the special features. Way back in the day, even the stuff you rented had the special features. Then they started saving the special features for people who actually buy the DVD... and I get that, though sometimes I liked watching special features, typically I never do. 

 

But if your a fan enough to buy it you should get all the special features. Now they want you to buy several version just to see all the features??
