It would be nice if they used the new Kirk facial sculpt set for release this summer with "Season 1 Tunic" Kirk. It's very mysterious how this has disappeared from Amazon. I hope it's not cancelled.

I'm totally speculating here, but I think an August release date bodes well for the possibility of it being the new Kirk I was referring to. Here's hoping.

Opcode, I'm having trouble finding the item on Amazon.com, is it still listed there? I'd like to sign up to receive an e-mail from Amazon.com when it's available for pre-order. Do you know if that's possible?

Indeed they removed the item. The link I have doesn't work anymore. But anyway the email I got from Amazon says that the release date was moved, so there is still hope.
Here is a copy of the important part...

I haven't heard of this but I saw where it looks like instead of a re-issued season seven Sisko they replaced him with a season four Sisko withthe Defiant chair.

Sweet...good to know that we get another variant, but ugh! I spent like 20 minutes making the images for the ref site using the Season 7 Sisko pix....stupid DST, lol!

They replied to my questions, so I am very happy about that, but I find their words about the "Trouble with Tribbles" command chair set rather curious. If they're going to release it around the same period as a new Kirk, why not use that same Kirk with it? I figured that might have been why they delayed the release date, moving it from February to August, but now the real reason remains a mystery. I also wonder what they meant about not being able to decide on the paint for amazon.com Kirk. If they're using an old sculpt, they wouldn't have the choice of changing paint...unless he's using the terms "paint" and "sculpt" interchangably.

To answer your question Quadro...I saw that it got passed over in the other thread and then the thread got closed. The reason they aren't going to use the New Kirk with this chair is because it wouldn't be screen accurate. He did wear the green wrap around, but not the one with the gold braids on the shoulders, that version was only in Season 1 if I am not mistaken. I remember seeing it in Court Martial for sure.

As for paint? No clue.

And It was prolly pushed back so that they can release the Mirror Mirror Chair and the Amazon Exclusive one at the same time, they usually do that with most exclusives.

I'm a bit confused... I thought he was asking if the new head sculpt for the S1 Wrap Kirk was going to be used.... with the original S2 Wrap body. I think that would have been a great idea, because the prototype of that S1 Kirk head looks much much better than the myriad of "regular" Kirk heads we've gotten so far. I was actually very very surprised that they even made a new head sculpt for the figure, when they could have just recycled the existing one yet again. Kudos to DST on that!
