#82931 Boomerang phaser painting help needed

Yes, the black does continue up. All the screen used examples I have seen have this. The Cobras have this feature as well.

#82452 How accurate is the Playmates "Boomerang" ST:FC/ST:Insurrection phaser?

Posted by iams001efni on 17 August 2015 - 11:12 PM

Here are a few pics I took of some boomerangs next to the insurrection playmates. The darker one is a Master Replicas, the one with the red and yellow power meter is an HMS/roddenberry, and the one with the green is a Stapleton.

Removal of the clip is the main thing. A repaint with automotive paint, a Plastikote 7173 equivalent, and fill in the screw holes should probably make for a decent rebuild. THe trigger button should be silver for the series version, red for the tng movies.

Looks like you can see a TNG Phaser rifle in the right side of this pic on their facebook page:

Thats the only thing I've seen so far. Most of the focus has been on the Star Wars items.

#72505 Star Trek - The Official Starships Collection

I also got mine today, also in Denver. They are pretty cool. The refit... It's going to be the odd duck of the bunch. The lack of detail, all clear warp nacelle details, and it's painted a light grey, not white. It's a really great model though, I bet the A will far superior. The binder is a really nice touch. I'll post pics tomorrow.
