Is this based off the master replicas tricoder? (Speaking of which, those never saw light of day, did they?)

Oh man! Now I can be excited again! I had never ordered a MR piece until the Tricorder. Now I can pick it up! Sweet news! Thanks for sharing!

A few made it out. Some people who ordered early directly from the MR site were able to receive their orders before MR started collapsing. Not sure how many there were, a few hundred, something like 400 or something.

For those here who may not realize this (already much discussed in the TPZ site):

EFX Collectibles are already taking preorders for the Mark IX Tricorder for $349.
The number of units available is limited at 1000.
The tricorder looks to be a carry over of the one initially sold by MR before the company became defunct.
The pre-order sale only started today and it appears to have already sold approx 25% of its stock (according to the sales progress bar on their site)

For those who missed out on the MR tricorder purchase can now get a second chance at buying one .... even more attractive is that for a similar price as what MR originally charged, unlike MR, you also get a Brent Spiner signature edition!

I didn't waste any time and submitted my order (didn't want to lose out again as I did with MR)

I'd love one of these (actually, I'd probably rather one that wasn't autographed)..... but no way could I afford it right now.

They aren't actually autographed on the tricorder, they are autographed on a little plaque that is on the stand usually.

Anyone purchased an eFX product before? I am considering picking this up but was wondering how's the quality of their previous items?

I looked over at Trek Prop Zone and someone stated they have a dealer who is saying not until December 18th, before Christmas. I am hoping they wait until the 10th ... I don't get paid till then.

I was looking over Efx's website and noticed they have a newsletter. On the the September edition, they mention that the first 250 people who order the tricorder will get a "special bonus." Anyone heard rumors on this?

If you check the EFX website now, you will see that they (EFX) has officially changed the delivery date of the Mark IX Tricorder to "early January" ...

(deja vous - tick-tock, tick-tock...)
