well I built the TOS skin from scratch, but as I understand it. the newer designs are not as modify friendly to a armature such as myself. There are lots of skins out there though. I put about 10 on the TrekPropZone forum.

Looking forward to a new and fresh look, the most important thing to me is that members stick with TT and that it's as easy if not easier to navigate. also perhaps linking it closer to facebook and other social media sites. Also it would be cool for fans to showcase their collections rather than having to post photos as a topic?

We have a Gallery to post photos. http://www.trektoy.c...autocom=gallery been there for a few years. Not sure everyone knows about it.

The change is coming. This type of forum is so old that it offers little protection against hacking. This version was put up in 2006. Can you believe it? I don't have a time table for it, but it's soon.

We are going to lose the TOS skin that I spent hours and hours making. sad.gif

There are a few of you here that are also members of the forum at The Trek Prop Zone, same version.

Ah Well sad.gif TOS Skin... we knew thee well!

Will the data base and galleries and such all migrate over? Or will we all have to "re-up" when the change happens?

I am not sure on all the details. There have been so many upgrades since this forum was made. I do not know how much will carry over. Hold your breath.

Indeed, Unfortunately Invision boards require a heck of a lot of maintenance.

That requires a lot of time. I have found it interesting in my short time here to notice the TrekToy forum is devoid of advertising.

That requires even more resources.

Wish you luck FHC on whatever you plan. Change is part of the game unfortunately with boards.

Those without moderation are ruined by flames, spam and flooding.

Good Luck. Invision Powered boards are tough to work with ...I've been on another for over 12 years that has kept advertising out...

Yet the troll proof board still has yet to be invented by anybody.

Well, I am not really worried so much about spammers. The problem is this version is so old that there is no support for it. I can make backups, but as I said, there is no support. If it would to suffer a major problem, I might not be able to bring it back. That is the major reason for the upgrade.

No matter the look of it, if you can keep the forum up and running, we'll keep coming back each and everyday to discuss Star Trek toy news and have friendly debates about toys, the Star Trek franchise, and uploading pics of our collections to share.

Which reminds me will the pictures we uploaded so far carry over? I'm just curious because as everyone has seen I have been prolific in my picture uploads. If not it's okay. I have the pics backed up to my facebook profile.

Looks like things are back up!

Interestingly enough all my avatar picts wouldn't work at first, but then I found the "Size" option and once I set teh size they seemed to display.

Allthough, my animated gifs don't seem to animate in the forum, so seems I will haveto play around some more, unless animated gifs are out now?

There is always more that needs done. No upgrade of this size is going to come without work by the owner to get the details working. Tech "support" only does so much.  I already have most of the weekend in this. I'll get to the little things as soon as I can. Just remembe that I work 13 hour days and have the fundraiser for autism going at the moment as well.

On the bright side, I expect the forum to be around for awhile.
