First I want to say that I am sorry that I have not been around as much of late. Demands of the real world as of late have been heavy. Also I have a new Blackberry that does not display the forum nearly as well as the previous model that I had making it much more time consuming (and therefore more difficult to do) to do during work hours. I will make a much more concerned effort to be available for those of you that have sent Pm

I woke up this morning to read through the threads and I swear three to four threads were all discussing the same thing. When threads get hijacked and the same discussions are being had on all of them it just decreases the level of interest. I seriously didnt even want to read through them all even though reading this forum is one of the highlights of my day. Like FHC said consider this your warning and that goes for new members old members or anyone in between. We all want this place to be enjoyable for all people.

Just like discussions in the real world, things will naturally move off from the original topic - of course, there is also an increased chance of it happening when there isn't much left to say regarding the actual thread's topic, but people want to keep the thread going. But, I agree it has reached a point to where it is out of hand, and I believe I've been involved in at least a couple of off-topic hijackings, and for that I apologize.

You know... If AA would just comeback with all it's original staff and make a completely new sculpt for every Trek Character in 3 3/4 scale this wouldn't happen!

I kid! I kid!

I think most of us are guilty of getting off topic every now and then... I, for one, will make an extra effort to stay on topic boss!

Members I thank you. If you look at the numbers, many people drop by each day that do not post. Since my time has been shorter here for the last few weeks, I have seen the forum from the point of view of the casual lurker. I read the title of the thread and I say to myself, that looks interesting, so I click on it. However, I find once there, it is a rehash of the same ideas in the previous 3 or so threads I dropped into. In the case of the forum of late, DST and how they choose to do this or that. I think that most, I'm sure not all, members here would agree I allow some good leeway on this sort of thing, but there comes a time when it becomes old. Being that I trust that everyone here can understand what I'm saying, I do not see the point of beating anyone ever the head about the matter, just use a little bit of your head when you post with your heart.

I wanted to bump this up as once again I am starting to a trend to backslide into this habit. Someone will make a post that is 75% on topic and 25% off topic. Someone replies to the off topic part and once again, we start off somewhere the thread is not about. Having been a part of message boards for some 10 years, easy, I understand that topics can and do wonder, however in these cases that I speak off, they never seem to wonder back. And then, seem to go right back to covering things that are already being covered in a different thread. If the subject is worthy, then start a new thread if it?s not already being covered somewhere on the forum. If it is being covered on the forum, then post it there, not arbitrary in any random thread. That is not what I call free speech.
