#85883 Star Trek Beyond Toys

Posted by robster on 14 June 2016 - 11:32 PM

And that's where we differ,as I actually want Pine Kirk and Quinto Spock figures, lol! I'm bored with the old stuff, and of course don't buy it. And I bet I'm the only one who loved the Playmates stuff from new movie Trek. And wave 2 looked really good too. I picked up a few things back in 2009 when the first movie came out,but not much when ST ID came out as there wasn't much to buy. And I don't buy stuff just becasue they slap Star Trek on it. Hascrap totally failed, and what little there was from others weren't that interesting, excpet for QMx stuff. Not a fan of POP figs,so won't be getting those either.

The Revell kit was great, and even though I'll never build it......I just like the box,lol....I'm glad I got it for failry cheap, around 20 bucks. It's still cheap actually, around 35-40 bucks, and well worth it.

Love the phasers from QMx and hope they do the new version. The Anovos LOOKS good, but there's no way I'm paying 300 bucks for a DIY kit,400 for Servo action. Will I pay up to 100 bucks for a QMx version? Absolutely! But not getting the SDCC Kirk and Spock though. I would if it was Pine and Quinto of course, lol!

Oh well, guess the toy companies don't wanna take a chance on any new movie Trek toys,so they don't want or need my money....which is fine,I can spend it elsewhere. Maybe go retro and pick up more Bionic toys and such, lol!

I do agree that for socalled Trek fans,it will never be good enough. There's ALWAYS SOMEthing they'll find to complain about, even when it's perfect. Instead of actually enjoying things they just look for all the nitpicky negatives. Doesn't it get old and boring after awhile? I would think so,but guess some people are just stuck in a rut, lol!

I love new Trek, always have, and look forward to the new movie very much. Guess I'm just easier to please, since I'm also looking forward to ID 2 and TMNT 2,lol! Hmmmm.....maybe it's time to look for some old ID toys?! Yeah, give Trek a rest again, lol!

LOL! So you want it like the Lego Movie,or some cgi fest Pixar style? lol! Claymation could be fun too, lol! Or maybe puppets, classic Thunderbirds style, lol!

I just want regular toys, like just about every other movie is getting these days. Yes,even ID 2.

Nice!! Gotta look for that soon as I get back to the US. One of the Comic-Con Hot Wheels exclusives looks pretty good too,a figure of Spock with his classic car....was it a Buick or something?....looks like a fun exclusive and not too pricey either.

Not a stretch at all,and why on Earth would they change it's appearance if it shows up again? They should just keep it the way it is.

LOL Razorgeist! Too funny! But you're probably right. And I always seem to love the ones that don't get the spotlight much,or at all, lol.

People just don't care then,'cos they certainly know about it. Almost everyone who went to the movies in the last two months saw the teaser trailer, and they haven't exactly started the promo push for the movie yet. But yeah,it seems the ones who REALLY don't care are Paramount. I doubt we'll get mcuh in the way of merch from this movie. I know I'll enjoy the movie though, just like I did the previous two.

#84080 SPOILERS! SPOILERS! SPOILERS! About SW TFA! SPOILER ALERT!

Posted by robster on 22 December 2015 - 12:54 AM

I don't mind reading a review or three, doesn't mean I actually agree with them. I'm quite capable of making up my own mind about a movie or tv show,a review is still just someone else's opinion that you might agree with or not. I'm not the very nitpicky kind either, and end up liking movies or tv shows that totally fail, lol! Like I've said before,I will watch anything.....ONCE. I even watched those little trolls walking around New Zealand for three movies and was bored to tears. *I* could've made a nice tourist infomercial for NZ as well,LOL! So,just goes to show that people love different things. Plain and simple.

It wasn't a bad review and not as nitpicky as some I have seen. Will I sit and look for faults while watching a movie? Hell no. I never do. I might be bored watching a movie, but that's on me. And no matter how bored I might get watching a movie,I NEVER leave the theater till the movie is over. I've paid for this and I WILL watch it through. If I fall asleep, then that's on me too, lol! Yes,it has happened a few times. Not gonna say which movies though, lol! And no,it wasn't ST ID,which I've watched numerous times as I still love it.

Because I don't care what other people think about movies I happened to like,I have a lot of movies people might never have heard of on my fave list, lol! Or they might've heard the title and just dismissed it right away. I stopped doing that when I was kinda forced to watch some movies I had never heard of and ended up loving. And yes, they ended up in my dvd collection as well, lol.

Trekmovie always are. It's one of the things just giving Trek fandom a REALLY bad name. All the trolls and goblins there.....makes me wonder if they've ever watched Trek or are even fans of Trek. Most times it just doesn't sound like it,and I've said as much in the comment section there myself. They can hate and troll me all they want,I don't give a rats ass with those people anymore. lol

Ooooops. LOL! Yeah,I'm really liking this,so far. Bet a Kirk can't be far behind. BBTS has it for pre-order at 70 bucks, which isn't a bad price really.

So,Han dying. No wonder Harrison Ford has been so happy and all smiles lately! He got his wish to be killed off. A lot of fans believe he's still alive though,y'know.....no one dies in sci fi movies and so on,LOL!

And Luke not saying one single word?! And not enough R2 in there either.
