I'd love these guys to get a license for all of Trek, and then release pre-decorated kits! Either way, this is great news for fans of the new ships. I'm sure Prometheus knows more, but I think these guys are great in terms of quality etc.

My dreams of having a nice JJPrise model may come true at last.

Hopefully they'll do all the new Federation ships, I love their BSG preassembled kits.

Said they're considering lighting kits for them as well. :)

Moebius tends to do both build your own and prepainted. Pretty much all the BSG kits have both, it stands to reason they'd do the same with Trek.

Well that's awesome, if they did do pre painted then I'm game.

Whats the plastic quality on these guys?  Is it the thin stuff like classic AMT?

Moebius makes really nice kits with good plastic. I've never had a problem with any of their kits.

I've seen it up for preorder, don't know if it's actually out yet.

Gorgeous ship! He even turned on the lights for me when I went by their booth today to get a LiS item they had.

I'm pretty sure Prometheus did the original galactica build and put pics up on the site here somewhere.

DJC emailed my a video of the KelvinPrise from the STLV convention.

He also asked about a Prebuilt option.

"He said the prebuilt will be tricky with licensing.  The size is an issue also.  He said they might play with size also.  He also included that he gets a ton of requests for the Kelvin and Franklin.  Those currently aren't being lit but that might change."

The videographer managed to get as close as possible to showing the impulse engines (which would indicate whether this is the '09 version or the STID ending refit) without actually showing them!

I strongly suspect this is just Revel's '09 vanilla model with a better paint job and a lighting job as a stand-in. Like how DST used to show pro-built AMT kits. It's certainly not the Lin/Hargreaves redesign seen from the beginning of STB.

Sorry, I didn't know that there was a difference in the impulse engines.

I'll apologise upfront for not having the source (can't find it, will look tonight), but yes, that JJ-Prise was built by a guy who has his own youtube channel, and is the Revell 1:500 kit. Moebius asked if they could borrow it for comic-con and STLV50. T'will find the video later.

Yeah, the nacelles are too large and the pylons are too straight for it to be the Beyond version of the JJprise.

Sorry, I didn't know that there was a difference in the impulse engines.

No worries, man, thanks for making the effort regardless.
