...walked into my local Toys R Us and was floored right as I walked in. They had set up their Star Trek featured area! It looks AMAZING. Huge sign with Spock, Uhura, and Kirk...Huge 'Star Trek' logo sign....and a HUGE Enterprise picture! The Enterprise was a seperate piece from the background it was in front of and had a 3 dimensional 'flying right at you' look to it. They were fully stocked with all the different Playmates stuff, plus games, dvds and the Hot Wheels stuff too.

Of course, my kids were going nuts over it...but I was pleasantly surprised to see other kids checking it out as well. I hope it's not too premature to say it, but it really feels like Trek is back...

A crappy pic from my phone-

Wow, I think we can safely say that's the first time Trek has EVER had a display like that in a TRU... too bad DST didn't have the ENT-D's in TRUs so they could fill some of those empty spaces with them when stock goes down. smile.gif

While that is definitely a bueatiful site to see, let's not forget that an equally over the top display was set up this time last year for Speed Racer, and that line BOMBED!!! Of course, the movie itself didn't help, plus those toys were pretty crappy and aimed ONLY at kids.

Wow! I was at my TRU too this morning, and mine had the same exact set up! I mean the same exactly. The bridges were above the transporters, etc. It was set up next to a huge Terminator section as well. Crazy. Oh, what's pretty cool is that the Star Trek figures seem to be selling pretty well. I think they're doing better than Terminator, XMen, thus far. At least, according to the empty pegs in certain areas.
