Review says Kirk and Spock in a two pack from DST. Am I to assume these are just the individually packed figures into 1 shipping box? Can only see pics of the single cards.

yes they are NOT a 2 pack i think he meant it's 2 in a box per case.

I'm totally digging the new articulated figures. Sure they're Kelvin Timeline, (and more Kirk and Spock,) but at this point I'd like to have some decent Kelvin Timeline figures, and just hope these expand beyond Kirk and Spock eventually. If this level of articulation keeps up I may actually buy more of the select figures.

I got both of the figures he other day. These are a giant step forward for DST but aren't without their problems.
Individually they are both great. The sculpts are great and the paint is very nice. The articulation is far superior to any of DST's past Star Trek figures and they come with a good number of accessories.although the little laser beams that attach to the fronts of the phasers are kind of silly and pointless.
Now for some of the problems.
First they both come with transporter style display stands. Both figures have peg holes in their feet but the stands have no pegs which makes them pretty useless.
The biggest issue I have is DST's scale issues have come up once again. They made Spock a giant compared to Kirk. Quinto and Pine are about the same height with one at 6 feet and the other at 6.1? If you look at stills from the movies they stand pretty even. The figures however do not reflect that at all. If you use the Kirk figure for reference at 6 feet tall that will put Spock a close to 6.9. It's a ridiculous difference that makes them look really bad together. But apart they look great.
So all and all this is a giant step forward for DST's Trek line but they still have some issues to work out.

Here are some pics. You can see that they are nice on their own but unless you do some creative displaying, the size difference is really noticeable.

Huh that's weird. Especially considering they could have just used the exact same body with different heads.

After looking them over carefully, I see the problem is with Spock's legs. They are way to long from the knee down. If I can find another Kirk for a decent price I may pick it up and just do a swap. They good news is that the have an upper thigh cut that should make it pretty easy.

I give them credit for not just reusing the same body. That has gotten them criticism in the past. They just need to pay more attention to certain details and ....well, basic anatomy.

Were these sculpted digitally?

Either way, I don't understand how this happens. This isn't material shrinkage. It's just apathy, and not just from DST but from the licensor as well.

Good question. I'm a 3D modeler and can tell you that it's not that hard to size a model correctly. Lol.

I ordered another Kirk. So while I'm waiting for that one to arrive I went ahead and fixed Spock's legs. He looks so much better now.

I also decided to have a little fun with my current Kirks head.

Have just picked up Spock, and will probably grab Kirk this week. Love the photos, and it's nice to finally get some decent Kelvin figures at last. I think my one nit, after looking at various reviews, is the lack of a 'utility belt' for the phaser, communicator and tricorder... I guess I'll just have to try to make some. I'm assuming that the belts from the 2009 six inch figures won't fit them? I never got the bigger figures back then, I poured everything into the 3.75" ones, so don't have any to try it with...

I've been locked out of my account for a while but it finally let me log back in. I was able to fix Spock's freakishly long legs. Now these are two are much closer in height. They look sooo much better now.

That's definitely an improvement. Sucks that it had to be done in the first place but it looks much better now.
