I saw iTunes now offers up Voyager Season 1.
You can download and buy the whole season for $30, which would be a good price if I could actually burn them onto a DVD so I could watch them on my TV, but you can't due to the silly Digital Rights Protection.
I'd gladly pay $30 per season, and I just can't fathom why they think $75 is the right price (let alone $130 which is the MSRP).
Heck even $50 would be a better price for the physical set...
Anyone else think they ask too much for the Voyager and Enterprise sets?
DS9 and TNG are much more reasonably priced and I picked up all the season sets of both series for around $30 a season.
I like that iTunes brought the price down... I just wish I could download and burn a set to watch...

Seems to me that they would sell a lot more season sets if the price was $30 to $40 a season like many other series season sets are. For several years TOS, TNG, DS9 also sat on the shelf gathering dust with 100 dollar price tags on them before they finally came down in price to around 50 bucks or so. I finally bought all 3 TOS seasons when the price fell into the 50's but thats still a little high IMO. I think the greed factor may have hurt Paramount with the sales of Star Trek dvd's. I would like to get the Enterprise DVD'S, but not until the price comes down.

I still can't find Star Trek DVDs at a reasonable price. I paid over $100 for my season 7 Voyager. I would like to start collecting some DS9, but the price tag is too high.

Yeah... I just can't figure it out VulcanFanatic... Most other TV series just don't command that price. If they lowered the price some people (whom I shal not name) wouldn't think it was more economical to get them in their netflicks mailers and rip and burn their own copies .-)
Chalksquared, I got pretty much all my DS9 sets brad new off ebay and paid about $30 ea, incl the shipping!
It took some time and you have to be very careful about bootlegs and scammers, but over all I was quite pleased with them all.

30 euro would still be better then what they are here.
Nope, in the states the best discounted price is abut $75 usd. Most local stores have them for $130.
The US pacakging on Voyager is ithe same as the DS9 already, so I don't know why they couldn't be cheaper.

Overstock.com has the DS9 complete set available for $300, which works out to about $43 / season. That is at least somewhat better....

The prices are determined by current syndication issues. At the time of their DVD release, VOY and ENT were still technically in their first syndication run. Since their first premiere was exclusively on UPN networks, there was a lot of marketing money to be made by their first mass market syndication (on stations OTHER than UPN). So for a large amount of the population it was possible to buy seasonal box sets before they were aired in certain regions.
With VOY being aired on SPIKE and ENT on Sci-Fi, the prices should begin to come down a bit. Now that TOS-remastered is airing, the TOS original box sets have dropped in price.
