Can't wait to see prototype pics, if they make the refit and Reliant, and I see no reason they won't, I think it's going to be safe to say that I won't bother with DST's ships ever again. Best of all, at 1:1000 scale they won't take up as much room, but still be detailed enough. 

This is what I was hoping for, I love that they're going to be releasing the larger kits as pre-painted as well. Hopefully they'll do their entire cadet series so we can get all the Enterprises to scale, alongside them making the larger kits. 

 

Perhaps my dreams of an Enterprise C aren't so far fetched. Come on 1/1400 scale kit, please be made into one of these. 

 

EDIT: As bad as it may sound, if Round 2 does start churning out larger Trek ships as prepainted, DST will be far less interesting to me. I don't care about lights and sounds, they're just the only option right now for Trek ships at a larger scale. 

This is exactly what I've been waiting for, I lost interest in the DST ships when I saw how craptacular the "revamped" 1701-A turned out. Now if they'll just do the refit Enterprise and Enterprise A, I'll be all set!

I have a suggestion for the windows being painted improperly : If they can't get them right consistently, then simply don't have them painted in at the factory anymore, period. They didn't paint them in on the Enterprise E, and I don't think they should be painted in on any of the molds that have molded in windows.

Frankly, I'd rather do it myself anyways, but that's just me.

Hearing about your prototype maker being ill makes me worried as I've also been a fan of his work as well. I hope he recovers soon.

I think it would be utterly hilarious if they slipped in a "Oh my!" phrase in there.

All I can say is the Excelsior had better have Sulu's voice clip saying "Fly her apart then!", or I will send George Takei in his Spiderman costume after you, DSTZach.

I think a better idea would be to have a built up 1/1000 polar lights version with the electronics kit for the bussards wired in for around $125-150.
