Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone here played any Trek PC games?
If so which ones would you recommend?
I found this site that has free demos of them and I've downloaded a couple
Star Trek: Hidden Evil & Star Trek: Away Team Which I love!
There's not too many games to choose from in the Trek world unfortunately.
I've been wanting to get a few, and was just wanting to hear some of your thoughts on them. smile.gif

The Trek games that I had the most fun playing were, in order

Star Trek: 25th Anniversary (I loved controlling the characters and the episodic format, but if space combat is your thing, it's pretty weak.)
Star Trek: Judgement Rites (really just more "episodes" of 25th anniversary with slightly improved graphics)
Star Trek: Armada (reminded me of Warcraft 2, which I absolutely loved wasting my weekends on in college.)

Boy, that last statement made my college life sound pretty sad... eh?

Elite Force was Okay, I guess. The best thing about it for me was hearing Biff Tannen on Voyager... smile.gif

Yes, the guy from Back to the Future (Thomas F. Wilson) voiced one of the characters in Elite Force. I forget the character's name, but he was a member of your AI squad as you went through the game. I'd say the character was basically Biff, slightly smarter, and without the sociopathic tendencies...

I wonder if there is a cheat code where you can cover Biff's character in Borg Manure?

That would be pretty funny...

A borg tries to inject him....

I have a bunch of Trek games but Armada 1 will always be my favorite.

Btw, is there a way to play old games that require Windows 95/98 on a XP operating system, besides me finding an old computer with 95/98 on it? I want to play a few older titles, but like I said I have XP.

I thought there was an emulation mode in the properties for the executable, wasn't there?

Maybe i am not up on this stuff, but i assumed that anything that required at least windows 95 would work on XP.

In theory yes, but the reality is that whether or not it works right out of the box is application-dependent.

I enjoyed Dominion Wars. It was a buggy game, but I still loved it.

I wonder if they'll be any games based on the new movie?

Anybody remember the TNG and classic trek games they had for Nintendo? I loved those!
I haven't played them since they stopped having them in blockbuster like 100 years ago lol
But, I never could get past those damn worms in the woods.... rolleyes.gif

I think Star Trek: Starfleet Command III is my favorite. I love the TNG setting, and I would love to see a SFC IV spanning more time periods and with a Z-axis. But SFC III is great. I also love the Armada series, and "A Final Unity" was a sweet game. I never got to finish it though, my computer back in the day wasn't that special and had a hard time with it. Every time we would fix a problem with running the game another would crop up down the road.

I have loved Star Trek: Armada II for years (I still play it occasionally with a friend)...there was a Dominion mod that someone made too that made it even more fun.
