I just ordered a holy grail item from an amazing kit producer!..... Timeslip Creations patterned an exact replica model kit after the 22" Studio Model, Earth Defense Directorate Starfighter from the late 70s early 1980 'Buck Rogers in the 25th Century' TV show.

I always loved this design from Ralph McQuarie himself.

It set me back quite a bit but this will most likely not be easy to find after a while so I jumped at the chance.

It's a resin kit and reviews of kits, already received, say they are flawless.

I was never crazy about the second season of Buck Rogers ( It only ran for two seasons.) But I thought the movie and first season were great as a kid. Sure there was a lot of cheese, but hey.... What shows didn't have cheese back then?!! :)

I will post pictures when the kit arrives.

I loved Buck Rogers. That's one of my all time favorite childhood shows. I can not wait to see this kit build.

Apparently this model builds up to an exact copy of the miniature they used for filming. I have seen pictures and it's gorgeous.... I have ordered items from Timeslip before and they are top notch!!

Here is an image of the kit I ordered built by a Pro modeler..... ( This is not my kit...I just wanted to show what is on it's way)

This color scheme is a bit dark, but the builder said the customer wanted it painted to his liking not necessarily the "studio" look. I will be painting mine a bit brighter white I think with a bit less weathering.

This fighter really stands the test of time in my opinion.... Even after all these decades it still looks sleek and nimble.

I understand what you mean about season one and season two. I loved Wilma a lot more as a blonde than a brunette

Agreed Sybeck.... But I think you will also agree she looked good in everything!! Erin Gray was the bomb!!

Erin and Maren Jensen (Athena from Classic BSG) were my childhood sweethearts.

Which season was the Vorvon ( Vampire ) .. That episode scared the crap out of me as a kid... Had nightmares for a week!!

To be honest I had favorite episodes from both.
Both Erin and Maren were hotties.
As for the model, wow...that thing looks great. I can't wait to see what you do with yours.

Yeah, I guess you are right JMW... There are some good second season episodes... Especially the one where Buck is on Trial.
