No lights on nacelles?

I think that is intended due to the appearence of the ship in ST3, the nacelles were black and unlit there(as was the same with the Excelsior in ST6, but that changed later in the Voyager episode "Flashback", because a new model had to be built, the CG versions also had blue nacelles)

I don't know whether they will be black in the final paint job, if not, I'm simply gonna paint them like in the good old AMT/Ertl model days ;)

Oh man, those sounds are so fantastic, and the attention to detail is so spot-on that I may end up burning a hole in my wallet for this!

Special mention must go to the lighting effects! Dark nacelles plus lighting in the aft shuttlebay bulge! Magnificent.

And I cracked up when the transwarp drive failed and all the lights started blinking randomly - perfect!

DST has really been knocking the ship quality and level of detail out of the park lately .... Cant wait to see what is announced this summer !!

I agree with DefiantOne about painting the nacelle grills on the NX-2000.... I definitely will be doing that to make it look more accurate.

Destructor- I'm with you about the NX..... DST really took notice to detail with the Shuttlebay and everything else.... Someone on another site said they seriously doubted DST would take the effort to make the NX different from the NCC....Boy were they ever wrong !! In my wildest dreams did I ever think I would get a super accurate Captain Styles NX-2000....

I'm completely torn with this. If you were to ask me which version I'd like without seeing them first, I'd choose the NCC version because of Sulu. However, hearing the sounds with this one, seeing the lit shuttlebay etc, it's difficult! I might try and convince my mate to get one, and whichever one he wants, I'll get the other! Kinda sorta like having both then. :)

I believe the unlit nacelles are meant to be film-accurate.

Not sure when it will be out, we solicit next month.

The Spidey near my phone is the Select figure. Not sure on that guy's arrival date, either.

Keep up the great work! I'm off to pre-order me a life size Twiki. Biddi-biddi-biddi. LOL!

Zach - those sounds are amazing - as is the light up shuttle bay.  I was gonna give this one a miss, but you just made yourself a sale dude!

Looks like BigBadtosystore got their shipment of the Excelsior Starship.  I just got my notification that my pre-order arrived.  Still undecided if I'll order the NX version.

I think the picture is overexposed or something... it has the ENTERPRISE B colors...

Yes it looks extremely overexposed.. in the DST video showing the lights and sounds, the ship has it's normal colour sheme.

I just watched the video Zach made for this and can't wait to put my pre–order through. DST has outdone themselves again, and I'm happy to see such a beautiful ship with every dialog clip and effect I could ask for included on it. (Especially Scotty's exchange with the turbolift!) It's also nice to see an accurate "hull update" for the NX variation; needless to say, I'm incredibly impressed.

Now all we need is a true STIII variant of the TWOK 1701; dust off the old Art Asylum battle damage from the 1701–A variant in TWOK packaging, stick it on a TWOK tooling, throw in an STIII sound clip and voila, you'd have three ships that would be capable of recreating almost every major scene with a ship from STIII. (I'm not holding my breath for a U.S.S. Grissom anytime soon, but I'll buy one if DST ever decides to release one, especially if it means a "stuck–in–rock" U.S.S. Pegasus variant.) All in all, I'm impressed with what we've gotten so far though, and I can't wait to get my grubby hands on the NX–2000.

I have been delayed in ordering my NCC-2000 due to tight finances but I saw EE's deal of the day yesterday and I jumped on it. Got shipping confirmation a bit earlier. Finally, after waiting since I started this topic backing in Feb of 2009 I will have my Excelsior. :D

Received my Excelsior NCC-2000 today.

Vendor was BBTS; who again excels in getting the box; therefore  the ship to the customer...me with no worries.  Cannot stress that.  (No I do not work for BBTS)

Ship Sculpt is and painting looks clean.  I love the dots on the Engineering hull that give her a sense in size.

(yes, the hull registry says Excelsior folks!)

Hearing Mr. Sulu is just great.

The Blue Nav Deflector is cool!

Like many buyers I am unable to afford every Ship DST makes, so I based my selection on the Captain on the sound board of the NCC-2000 as opposed to the NX-2000.

One minor issue was the battery hatch compartment with this particular toy I ordered.  I know the compartment is a workable design since my DST Enterpise B had no problems at all in this area.

Just a hatch issue, but to others, be gentle with this part!

NCC-2000 is now fully operational at home DST,

Well done.

This will be my last DST purchase for somewhile until your next designs arrive on preorder.
