Announced at the comic-con panel today, he'll be playing a big character in season 5. I wouldn't consider knowing this character a spoiler of any kind really, but just in case, I'll put it in spoiler tags below:

Really chuffed by this news. Seeing any Trek actor break the curse of never getting a big role again, is great. :)

Yeah, this is awesome! But the Trek curse isn't really as bad as people make it, especially not for the actors of DS9, VOY and ENT. Most of them have had rather interesting careers ever since: Jonathan Frakes, LeVar Burton, Roxann Dawson and Robert Duncan McNeill as producers and directors, Robert Picardo, Kate Mulgrew, Rene Auberjonois, Nana Visitor, Jeri Ryan, John Billingsley, Scott Bakula, Alexander Siddig, Armin Shimerman, Dominic Keating and Connor Trinneer have all had recurring or regular roles on TV shows after their stint at Star Trek. And Patrick Stewart is of course very successful on the stage as well as in the X-Men movies. Actually, that's not so bad after all.

There's been rumours for a while that he's in the running for a role in Thrones in the future - character rumoured in spoiler tags:

I don't know anything about the character (I only watch the show, don't read the books), except he seems to be a bit of a baddie, but this would be amazing. :)

Im excited for this and to see what happens next season.  I jumped on board watching this last April and watched 3 seasons in about a week!

I did basically the same, except I started watching right after season 3 finished last year. My friends had watched it since it started, and I'd managed to avoid having to see it (or so I thought!). Fantasy isn't usually my thing, but this is more than that, it's such a good show. It's now my favourite series behind Star Trek, and I'm as excited for season 5, as I would be a new series of TNG/DS9. :)
