Days of future past is one of the most iconic stories from the X-Men comic. It, and several others, really cemented Chris Claremont as the premier writer of the X-Men.
Even the cover of the comic grabbed you and is considered one of the all time greats.
So yeah, I'm excited for this, and I really hope they do the source material justice.

Glad you liked it. I will be seeing it this weekend. While I am not crazy about a lot of the decisions Singer made in the previous films I still enjoyed them. I also enjoyed the stuff he didn't have a hand in too. So I think I will enjoy this one.

Not a big X-Men fan,I enjoy the movies but that's basically it. More of a Spidey guy,and REALLY looking forward to Guardians of the Galaxy! The latest trailer is just hilarious! lol

I saw it last night. I liked it, but I think I liked "First Class" better. It was a good story, but maybe too "epic". Or maybe it's my old brain that just can't get around a really big story? It least it had the angry elf dude from Elf in it.
Anyway, I think it's high time that they give Jennifer Lawrence / Mystique a movie all her own. I could watch her for hours!

I enjoyed it greatly. Id like to say its the best of the x-men films but I usually say that walking out of the theatre. We will see how this one holds up in future years but I really do think it has a very good chance to do so. Im actually really excited for the next film as well something I couldnt say in the past.
I also found it refreshing that they were able to get big stars who played parts to return for cameos. I also find it refreshing that people who went on to much bigger fame after an x film have returned to reprise their role here. Its weird to look at the number of stars who launched their careers in x films and it didnt really dawn on me until I saw this one.

I have to admit I haven't bothered seeing DofP yet. I'm mainly a Spidey guy,but enjoy watching other superheroes as well. It's just that lately, and in the next few years, there are just WAY too many superhero movies coming out and I'm starting to get bored with a lot of'em,unfortunately, and my short attention span doesn't let me sit and watch movies at the movies, lol,if I get bored,so I choose to not go,and wait for the dvd or br instead. Some superheroes I still watch at the movies, like Spidey and Superman, and the upcoming GotG is DEFO gonna be seen at the movies, but that's more of a sci-fi/superhero thing. Actually looking forward to that one.
So no,no DofP or Cap 2 at the movies for me. Probably no Turtles either,MAYBE TF4 and Apes, but they don't fall under the superhero category. The Giver looks ok though. I ALWAYS see Trek and SW at the movies though, lol! My attention span is snapped into focus when watching that, lol!

I loved it. I was really shocked that I loved it. It seemed to me that the X franchise had devolved into crud, with X3, Wolverine Origins, whatever that Samurai Wolverine film was.... First Class was a breath of fresh air, certainly, but I thought perhaps that was an aberration.
DOFP kicked an unrelenting amount of ass. It was funny, exciting, original, and unflinching. Most importantly, it hung together well, its own internal logic prevailing.
It had issues, particularly with regard to continuity in the overall X saga (but then, First Class started that off) - like "how is it that Professor X still looks like Picard?", and I felt Magneto's powers were a little over-inflated at times.
But it's a testament to how entertaining and engrossing the film was that those issues didn't matter at all.
I'd place this one a good distance above Avengers - another excellent film - perhaps on a par with Watchmen, and within spitting distance of The Dark Knight, as one of the best superhero movies of all time.

D-
I really like this movie as well...... I feel also that it is right up there as the best of the genre. Well done and ANY continuity issues were totally overshadowed by a great time had by all

I enjoyed it as well. I didn't think it was as good as First Class, but it was a solid effort. Perhaps my biggest issue was that they introduced such a an entourage of great characters (Blink, Bishop etc), but they only whetted my appetite with them. Its tough to make such an entourage cast work and at the end of the day, it felt like they needed less cast, not more as the story really came down to the Xavier - Magneto relationship, and that bit fared well in translation.
For me, it doesn't rank as high as it did for you Destructor, but I suspect we may have some different tastes if you consider Watchmen as top tier in the genre! I probably just have a different scale! I will agree that Dark Knight is top tier!

Dark Knight is a good pivot point for genre tastes, alright! I can totally see your point of view on this one, though.
