And...they're NOT shiny! They look perfect, at least in the promo shots!

They're made by 'Bif Bang Pow' (http://en.memory-alp...i/Bif_Bang_Pow!), and are available to pre-order now in the UK, from forbidden planet. December ETA, £26.99 each:

Found these over on the Trek collective. Fingers crossed, these could be brilliant. Definitely going to hold off getting the QMX DS9/Voyager badge until I've seen these. :)

I should point out, @8of5 said this to me on twitter:

"I'd take those images with a pinch of salt; several months from release, I have a suspicion those are not the real deal."

Now he's not an insider or anything, but upon looking up what other Star Trek products that company makes, well, I'm not cancelling my pre-order for a QMX DS9 badge just yet. In other words, he does have a point. I'm hoping they're just better versions of the ones from the 90s - accurate size and shape (-ish), with a little soundboard you place underneath your t-shirt/coat, etc. I had three of them: TNG, DS9/Voyager, and the Bajoran version.

Oh how I would love to finally, and at long last own a screen-accurate communicator badge, with no stupid, tacky, shiny finish.

OMG I want these.  From the description, it doesn't sound (pardon the pun) like there's a board that goes under the shirt.  Says the combadge attaches to the shirt with two pins.

Whoa! Very nice... if they come out that way!

My QMX VOY badge is on the way now, but I'd get these if the price where right. The nice thing about the QMX badges is they are only $20. These look like they will be double that... but I'm just basing that on the exchange rate of the pound.

QMX badges are £20 in store (19.99), so those new ones are only a few quid more. :)

ah. Thanks Jay. 20 USD is quite a bit less than 20 QUID. Didn't know if it was localized. Look like they do!

The listing calls these "Bif Bang Pow's Roddenberry Star Trek Voyager Combadge with Sound."  Looks like they've partnered with Roddenberry.com to use their combadge molds.  I have the TNG and Voyager Roddenberry com badges (made of resin) and I suspect that's what's pictured in the listing.    These new items are made of plastic though.

Anyone hear anything new about these? They're listed as shipping to retailers this month.
