Back in 2000, I was looking at a website which displayed the never released Galoob Enterprise-D playset and Wesley Crusher and Romulan action figures. I saw the prototype Galoob Geordi's visor toy in the pics.
During the production of 1st season of Star Trek: The Next Generation, Galoob is currently working on a toy version of Geordi's visor. It never got released.
