Man I was really looking forward to this year's SDCC ship - but I had to pass on this one.  I love the idea of a gold ship, but the 1701-A was executed much better a few years ago.  I had selected details painted onto the hull in non-gold colouring.

I have a vague memory of someone from DST saying that they chose to paint it that was so that it would be something unique - something collectors couldn't simply make themselves with "a can of gold spraypaint".

I mean I love the ship - but just would have much rather seen the regular version of the Enterprise C - or even a battle damaged "Yesterday's Enterprise" exclusive variant could have been cool.

And oh yeah...the missing phaser strip - just saw that on FB.

Yeah I saw that too. Dissapointing but not enough to make me not pick it up.  Maybe on the completed version DST will put it on as a printed detail.

Boy... seeing it next to "A" really does make it look a bit cheesy to me... Maybe if it had a bit of black wash to make the details stand out a bit more?
