Thanks gang, it's definately one of the biggest con's Seattle has seen in quite some time. Creation used to have one up here every 3-6 monthsa back when Voyager was on the air, but I've enjoyed the smaller conventions. They seem to have more heart than the big corporate one's, where your rushed through the lines and don't have a opportunity to talk with the stars. It's something I enjoy when we've gone to SDCC, most of the stars love interacting with the fans. Anyway, waiting on the cable guy to show up and rewire our house. Once that's done, I'm most likely out of picture for several hours. If anyone has any problems, please pm Mason or anyone else and we'll try and get things resolved quickly.

^^^I agree with you about small cons! I went to a couple of small cons in Leicester and Birmingham back in the 80's, and I have to say that the atmosphere is much nicer. Frankly I've been put off by the huge events put on by Creation Entertainment, and the amount extra they charge for stars' autographs. I've heard from too many fans who have come away disappointed when a star has appeared rude or offhand to them, and yet I happen to know that Tom Hardy was hassled by stewards at the Las Vegas convention in 2004 because he wanted to spend time talking to a fan that had flown from Chicago especially to meet him. As it was, it was a prearranged meeting, and he had nothing else on at the time, but they kept trying to prevent him talking to her, and he had to get quite snappish with them.

At smaller cons, you can mix with the stars more because there are less crowds and, yes, they do have more heart!

Anyway, I hope you all enjoy the con, and we hope you tell us all how it went!

Well I'm here 2000 miles from home. Roger had a little prop party in his room and I'm smiling because I'm thinking of stealing these.

You know Jules, I was waiting for someone to comment on this biggrin.gif Sadly, this is the way Mark looks most of the time tongue.gif The poor guy needs to sleep a little bit more, but with all that's going on at the con, it's hard enough to take a lunch or bathroom break laugh.gif Unfortunately, the older I get the more my bladder doesn't allow me to deviate much sad.gif Con has some cool things going on and some great guests. I wish more of the forum was there to meet up, so far I've met some great folks smile.gif

I posted this else were so i thought i would put it here as well:)

I'm here in Seattle and just saw the Pre-Premiere (pre because the episode is not 100% done) on "To serve all my days" last night, A couple hundred people packed the small theater area here at the Science Fiction Museum to see this episode and 2 trailers for "Of Gods and Men". Walter Koenig introduced the episode to the audience. Right from the opening act to the end the episode rocked! The episode was not 100% complete as it was missing some of the very last space (battle) scenes that are still being completed; the audience was provided a text description of the space scene so they would know what was going on. Again it was the last 4 or 5 over the Dozens of beautiful CGI scenes in the episode. Every thing about this episode had you glued to the screen from start to finish.

The music score was sensational and really worked on the big screen, and seamlessly with the CGI scenes (those were great to). What made this episode stand out the most was the acting. Guest stars Walter Koenig and Mary-Linda Rappeleye gave some stunning performances and the end of the episode will sure be talked about for months. Some people say you can never go back again, but with this episode we were brought to the days of watching TOS episodes for the first time and the effect it has had on us till this day. In a time when there is no current trek on the air, this was something we surly needed and the audience

Well, the con is over and the wife and I had a blast meeting some of our favorite stars the last few days. It was also great to put a face to some names I've known for a number of years, including my fellow staff members, FHC, Propmaster, Tom and a new member to our forum, USSCassiopeia(Dave to his friends). I'll post more on the con tomorrow or the next day, as I have a 100 things I need to start tomorrow to make up for the time lost around my place, lol. I want to wish everyone who attended, including the guests, I safe journey home and we'll see you back on the forum when you get back home.

Don the pleasure was all mine believe me. I had a wonderful time and hope to visit the city again soon. You both were a treat and I appreciate your generosity and kindness towards a old Fart of an Engineer, and due to you both, it made the trip much more enjoyable.
