So what was with the color blue in Star Trek TNG era?

In TNG, mostly it was sort of a lighter shade of medium blue. Crusher's blue kinda looked like a wornoutblue but was mostly blue. In some of the uniforms in season 1/2 the blue was a deep medium blue. I don't recall if it was ever a greenish blue. But in Voy/DS9 it was sometimes like a green. What's with that? They didn't like blue or what?
Here's an example, in toy form

Which is I am gathering where Playmates got their colouring ideas from.
And whilst I pleaded with Playmates over the years to change the colouring of the science uniforms....these days one can appreciate the fact they atleast were all the same colour....which is something we won't be seeing with DST.
Not that that bothers me too much....but consistency would be better than accuracy in this respect.

Data also should have worn a blue uniform.. blue didn't get any love on that show.

Yep green (and blue) screen can be a pain if you have similar colors or really reflective stuff in front of it. That is why in some of the flying scenes in the original Superman movie his costume looked almost green. They had to change the color so it would work with thier blue screen shots.
I personaly would prefer a consistant color with uniforms instead of them trying to make every figure have every little variation that showed up on screen. Lighting played a big part in some of those shots and pictures. Oh Well, at least we are getting some nice figures.

When did she nearly Kill the Captain in that episode??
I wouldn't mind a 2-pack of beaten up & sweaty Jonny & Bev
Did the other uniforms change in this same manner?
I think the red turned more to a burgandy, no?
Engineering seemed to stay about the same.

would this uniform have been the same material/color (teal) in real life as all the uniforms on DS9 etc?

I made a sly attempt at a dirty joke where I did not tell the entire joke only the punch line.
Let me add one word to it
Crusher?
( I ) Nearly killed her Capt!!

Maybe Jean Luc could offer Beverly some Dickens Cider to calm her nerves while the two are alone on the away mission?

They certainly would not have been 'just talking' in front of that camp fire had he done so
I would prefer they do that as well. I keep asking, but I don't think I've heard a reply...is the difference in the TNG uniform colours a result of DST using different factories to make the various assortments?

Every time I see Beverly now on screen, I can't help but think of Artistix.............and I've even been noticing her hair dos!

I really hope so because the alternative would be that they just dont care. The COC Data is a big change from the other waves. To be honest its a worse matching of the color from the show. Ive resigned myself to this line having a wide array of colors. Did the playmates line change the plastic color for the uniform color and paint on the black or vice versa?
